Project Runway’s Chris March Seeks Payment from Beyonce Designer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News,
During Lifetime’s Project Runway: All-Star Challenge, we learned about Chris March’s life away from the show. Since his stint on Season 4, the contestant has worked with a number of A-list musicians, companies and designers. Unfortunately, he hasn’t always been rewarded for his effort.
Despite being hired by Thierry Mugler to create costumes for Beyoncé‘s concert tour, the designer is still waiting for the checks to arrive. In a lawsuit filed July 23, March contends that nearly $45,000 worth of services have gone unpaid.
“Chris March’s lawsuit is not against Beyonce, but rather against Thierry Mugler and Tancrede Prinz, who owe Chris money for having designed and fitted Beyonce’s costumes,” March’s lawyer, Leslie H. Ben-Zvi, clarified. “Beyonce paid them, but they in turn have not paid Chris. Chris continues to be a fan and great admirer of Beyonce, who looks beautiful in everything she wears, especially Chris’ costumes.”
March placed fourth in both Season 4 and in the All-Star special.

Beyonce: Billboard’s Woman of the Year
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Awards,
Attention all you female singers: you might as well give up right now. Beyonce Knowles has got the race locked up.
Although we’re only 8 months into the current year, Billboard has already declared the “Single Ladies” star their Woman of the Year. In fact, they’ll be presenting her the award in October.
The Grammy winner’s selection was based on a number of factors. In addition to releasing one of the catchiest songs ever (and a successful album overall), the singer-dancer-actress has “inspired the music business with her success, leadership and new ideas.” Knowles has also generously given to the community by offering free concert tickets to financially-strapped families and helping to provide meals through Feeding America.

Jessica Biel: A Dangerous Celebrity?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies,
You may have put yourself at risk just by reading this article.
According to McAfee Inc., Jessica Biel is currently the most dangerous celebrity to search for online. Why? Is it because her content is NSFW? No - but it might not be safe for your laptop. The technology security company claims one out of every five searches for the actress’ names leads to a site designed to damage one’s computer.
This is the third year in a row the company has released results based on A-listers. In 2008, Inglourious Basterds star Brad Pitt was the recipient of this dubious title.
Those names following directly behind Biel on this year’s list are Beyonce, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Brady and Jessica Simpson.

Lady Gaga to Tone Down Show
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Industry News, Performances, Dance, Pop,
Lady Gaga is toning down her image for her trip to Israel. The “Poker Face” singer - famed for her provocative outfits and routines - has vowed to be respectful while she is in the Jewish country and can’t wait to see “sacred and holy” Jerusalem. She added her visit to the holy city will be “an emotional and spiritual experience.” However, the 23-year-old blonde - who plans to swim in the Dead Sea - admits she won’t be able to curb all her wild behavior and has confessed she might “get drunk in Jerusalem.”
Lady Gaga, who will perform the last show of her “Fame Ball” tour in Tel Aviv tonight, is not the first star ordered to tone down their image during a visit to a religious country. In October 2007, Beyonce Knowles canceled her concert in Malaysia after she was told to follow the Muslim country’s strict dress code. Gwen Stefani was also told to cover up during her Malaysian concert in August 2007. The flamboyant star wore sober outfits but called it a “major sacrifice”. She put jackets over her tops and leotards underneath her skirts and dresses, to conform to the guidelines during the show. Madonna was warned about her raunchy stage show for her concert in Russia’s St. Petersburg earlier this month.

Which had a bigger visual impact this year? Beyonce‘s “Single Ladies” dance or Lady Gaga’s eccentric outfits?
On September 13, both ladies will have the opportunity to take home 9 Moonmen from this fall’s Video Music Awards. That’s the most nominations for any artist his year. (There are only two categories - Best New Artist and Best Choreography - in which the two don’t compete against each other.)

Questionable Outfit of the Day: Beyonce
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Clothing, Fashion Police, Red Carpet,
If there is anyone who could have overshadowed Janet Jackson’s BET Awards appearance last night, it was Beyonce.
I believe it was Coco Chanel who said that when it came to accessorizing, you should always take off the last thing you put on. Unfortunately, this musical diva went a bit too far. What was already a loud dress was made even more garish when she paired it with large turquoise-colored hoops and beaded heels.
Now we know why Jay-Z’s always wearing sunglasses…
(Make sure to check out our other questionable outfits.)

Michael Jackson Remembered By Stars
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Industry News, Pop, Rock,
We gve you a look at celebrities mourning Michael Jackson on Twitter, but many have released longer statements as well. Madonna says she “can’t stop crying” about the death of Michael Jackson.
The singer has been sobbing uncontrollably since she heard the 50-year-old Jackson had passed away yesterday after suffering a cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home. She said: “I can’t stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless.”
Singer Sir Elton John was halfway though his annual White Tie and Tiara Ball when he heard about Michael’s death. He broke the news to his guests - including Liz Hurley, Hugh Grant, Lily Allen and Kelly Osbourne - before dedicating his song Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me to Michael. Nearly half of his guests left after they found out about the death.
Britney Spears was one of the first to express her grief about the pop icon’s passing. In a statement issued last night, she said: “I was so excited to see his show in London. We were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I’m devastated he’s gone!”

Beyonce demands car ride for 45-foot trip
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, R&B / Soul,
Beyonce Knowles took a 45-foot car ride from her London hotel to a shop. The Single Ladies singer took two chauffeur driven vehicles containing her team and bodyguards, trailed by paparazzi, on a car journey from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel - located in the exclusive Knightsbridge area of the UK capital - to the Harvey Nicholls department store across the street. Beyonce reportedly demanded on being driven because she didn’t want to walk in her high heels.
After being escorted around the designer store for just 20 minutes she took her car back to her hotel. A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Beyonce has always been down to earth but her antics were astonishing. It looked like they were preparing for a long journey, but it was over as soon as it began. It would have been much quicker to have strolled across the road.
The 27-year-old singer is in the UK for the final dates of her I Am world tour.
Joe Jonas Attempts the ‘Single Ladies’ Dance
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Videos,
Uh, let’s be clear—Joe Jonas shouldn’t be making plans to leave his boy band anytime soon.
To promote their upcoming album (Lines, Vines and Trying Times comes out on June 16), the Jonas Brothers have begun moonlighting as wish makers. This clip above has been dubbed by the trio as “long-awaited and long-requested.” Really?
My two thoughts on this? A) Justin Timberlake already channeled Beyonce last year…and he did it better. B) Is Joe the only person on Earth who doesn’t know the lyrics to “Single Ladies”?
