Sony has unveiled their newest 5.1MP digital camera – the T7. The T7 is an updated version of the very popular T1 model. Some of the updated features include the relocation of menu buttons to the left side, zoom controls moved to the top, and the body has been truncated to one-third of an inch thin. The miniature camera not only looks sexy, but has a 3x optical zoom and the ability to capture and playback high-resolution video at 640x480 pixel resolution. Apparently, some iPod shuffle accessories can be used to protect more than just your Apple MP3 player. Case in point: the iSmoke shuffle. Big enough to hold three cigarettes perfectly around your neck, and cool enough to wear with your earbuds.

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Features, Music, Product Reviews,
We have a schizophrenic Playlist this time, with rappers and beach bums, with soul singers and pop bands. 50 Cent is back, as is Jack Johnson, both trying to improve over their last successful releases. Sage Francis furthers the cause of underground hip-hop, and Sam Cooke is our collection essential, putting a little soul in this dreary winter. Enjoy the Playlist, and let me know what you think in our forums or by emailing me.

At the moment when people were still taking in some of the newest Bluetooth cameraphones, the newest Bluetooth network, comprised of a herd of cattle, is now the latest on the Bluetooth front. Danish vendor Blip Systems has developed a system where you can put a Bluetooth device onto members of a herd, and monitor the location of each cow remotely. In addition, you can even keep track of the cows health. The technology was developed in conjunction with the Danish Cattle Research Centre and the Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences. Blip says the technology would be profitable for those with 100 or more cattle, and plan to sell the mesh networks for under 100 euros.

No More Privacy For AOL Instant Messenger Users
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Internet, Software,
At a time when privacy on the Internet is of the utmost importance to many people, AOL has added a new provision to their AIM Terms of Service contract. Of course, there is rarely a person that ever even reads these things, so here is the text:
...by posting Content on an AIM Product, you grant AOL, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, assigns, agents and licensees the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to reproduce, display, perform, distribute, adapt and promote this Content in any medium. You waive any right to privacy.
That is straight from AOL themselves, my friends. You waive any right to privacy. That is as clear as day. I recommend anyone using AIM to switch to something a bit more sensible, and a lot more user friendly - like Skype - available in both Windows and Mac/Linux flavors.

If you have never been in need of a file you forgot while on the go, you are a liar. The fact of the matter is, we have all forgotten/deleted/thrown away something important at one time or another. Box.net is all about making these kinds of things less stressful. Their goal is simply to provide you with an online file storage bin that is always available. Their standard box size is 1 GB, which is more than enough to hold images, Word documents, and a few other things. Accounts can be shared, or kept all to your lonesome. We are going to be giving away three 1 GB accounts, which will be yours for one year, over the next few days. In order to win, be sure to check back daily. We will be putting a box.net hyperlink into one story per day, for three days, starting on Monday. If you see it, be the first to post your findings in the comments area of that news item and the 1 year 1 GB account is yours. In the meantime, read up on their service (which you can also opt to purchase yourself for $2.99 per month) in their “How It Works” section.
Looks like Blu-Ray has another supporter in the HD format wars, and it’s a biggie. Yesterday Apple announced that it will be the latest member in the Blu-Ray Disc Association, following a bimonthly meeting in South Korea hosted by electronics maker Samsung. Proponents of Blu Ray say that the format holds more data, while companies favoring the HD-DVD format say that they are cheaper to manufacture. The upcoming players for each format are both backward-compatible with existing DVD’s. Since Sony and Apple are now behind Blu-Ray, some of you might think that the war is just about over now. Well, take a look at the upcoming HD-DVD releases and you might think twice.

Star Wars and Lego make such a good combination it’s not even funny. Witness the new Death Star II, coming this September for $300. Sure it’s a tad expensive, but just look at the complexity of this thing. Plus it comes with a stand, and measures 25 inches high and 19 inches wide. I would just hate to accidentally knock this thing over.
