Bing: We will be this sort of thread that runs through almost everything Microsoft is doing
Posted by John Kilhefner Categories: Corporate News, Internet, Microsoft, Video Games,
The future of search, according to Microsoft, is outside of the white search bar. "Now the way for human beings to express their interest or needs goes way beyond a browser search typing in keywords," said Microsoft's Bing chief, Qi Lu. "You can use voice to have a conversation, you can use gestures to express yourself."
Moving forward, Bing will fit into all of Microsoft's products, providing information access from physical objects to expand the context of its search.
"The battle between us and Google is going to be over who can build understanding more quickly to serve people in a much more anticipatory way," says Microsoft's Adam Sohn. "Google's going to understand every entity on the planet, we're gonna understand every entity on the planet, but the question will be what do you do with that information?"

Purported Samsung Galaxy S IV videos leak ahead of tonight’s announcement
Posted by Jason Diaz Categories: Smartphones, Handhelds, Rumors, Videos,
It appears that someone has been naughty and wants to spoil the party by uploading videos of the new Samsung Galaxy S IV smartphones before the launch tonight in New York City.
The first video highlights floating touch, which I presume allows the user to manipulate the screen without making physical contact. The feature was first introduced by Sony's Xperia Sola last year. Check out all four videos after the break.

You can now automatically share your Netflix viewing activity on Facebook
Posted by Jason Diaz Categories: Corporate News, Home Entertainment, Internet, Movies,
Netflix is more social in the US now that you or, better said, Netflix can share your favorite movies and television shows with your friends on Facebook.
The Internet video on demand streaming giant has been given the green light to share your Netflix activity among your Facebook friends. The added functionality is off by default, but users can turn it on and pretty much allow others to spy on what they're watching and liking. Thankfully, Netflix added another feature that will hide specific videos that you deem unworthy of sharing. The caveat is that you don't forget to click the "don't share this" button on a specific video.

Massive LEGO Hogwarts at Emerald City Comic Con [Video]
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Design, Videos,
If you weren't able to make it to Emerald City Comic Con, then you missed the awesome LEGO Hogwarts that was built by Alice Finch. This thing took a year to build, and then had to be taken apart and sectioned in order to be brought to ECCC. It took six minivans to transport it, and three hours to get everything back in place. That's 400,000 LEGO bricks, over 250 minifigures, and no glue. Check out the video after the jump that shows off the reconstruction, and just how how LEGO Hogwarts is.

Apple seeds OS X 10.8.3 build 12D78 to developers
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, PC / Laptop, Software,
In five days, OS X 10.8.3 will become the longest beat in the history of OS X. Today, Apple has seeded yet another build, 12D78, to developers for testing. As has been the case with the last few 10.8.3 previews of Mountain Lion, there are no major changes, and no known issues. Obviously, something must be up, though, because it's taking forever for this one to hit the public. The two builds before this one were 12D74 and 12D76, so the changes between versions have slowed substantially. Apple is asking devs to focus on AirPlay, AirPort, Game Center, graphics drivers, and Safari. Go and grab it is you've got a dev membership!
