Major Nelson: Old Xbox Avatar clothing will be unlocked in the future
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Downloadable Content, Microsoft, Xbox 360, Xbox Live,
I don’t know about you, but some of the clothing that I put on my avatar that has since been removed from the currently available items in the Avatar Editor are no longer available for me to re-apply to my little guy—even if it’s a saved outfit. I threw out the issue on Twitter, and Major Nelson his me back to let me know that older clothing will be unlocked, and the issue will eventually disappear. Apparently, for those of you in the NXE Preview Program that was around before the NXE went public, if you’ve saved items as outfits that were removed, you are unable to access them, with the one caveat being that if you are currently wearing a piece of clothing that is locked, you get to rock it, as long as you don’t take it off.

Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing Coming to Rock Band
Posted by Alex Lifschitz Categories: Downloadable Content, Electronic Arts, Music, Rumors,
So here’s the drink list from the event Harmonix threw the other day at the Rockit Room in San Fran. Nice, eh? I didn’t get the opportunity to indulge, but one fellow told me that the overdrive will “take you to flavor country” before gliding away on roller skates.
Oh, and at the end of the night, they announced and played a song called “Don’t Stop Believing” or something by some flash in the pan band named Journey, claiming that it would be hitting Rock Band. Should be available next Tuesday, but the date is subject to change and the pricing has not yet been announced, if you care about that kind of stuff.
(It’s very hard for me to break sarcasm, but I’ve always held the position that the first music and rhythm game to get this song wins the war. Good job, HMX! You’ve doomed me to more DLC as my children starve. Or, at least, they’re LIKE my children. But they’re older, and female. And hookers.)

Blockbuster Tests Game Rentals
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Corporate News, Downloadable Content,
Blockbuster is testing video game rentals as part of their Total Access subscription and should be available to all their customers by the second half of 2009. Although games cost more than DVDs and have a shorter shelf life, the company may get into some revenue sharing deals with game studios. If you want to subscribe to the service, it will cost you a $5.00 surcharge. In the true spirit of competition, we hope this will help the Blockbuster stay in the game, literally.
