Gold & Rose Gold Apple Watch Sport

Apple has announced two new colors for the Apple Watch Sport line at today's Hey Siri, Give Us A Hint event. Originally released in silver and space gray 7000 series aluminum, now users have option of picking up the Apple Watch Sport in both gold and rose gold colors. These aren't real gold, of course, although Apple does sell watches made of genuine gold and rose gold. Instead, these are the exact same Apple Watch Sport model, with gold-colored aluminum.

The new gold and rose gold Apple Watch models are shipping starting today. You can pick one up now.

(Product) Red Apple Watch Sport Band

Apple is set to take the stage in about 15 minutes for its Hey Siri, Give Us A Hint event. One piece of information did leak, though, and that's proof of a new (Product) Red Sport band for the Apple Watch. As you can see in the image above, if true, Apple will be expanding the colors available in the Sport band line. Up until now, Apple Watch Sport bands have been available in green, pink, blue, black, and white. When you buy a (Product) Red product, a portion of the sales goes to help the fights against AIDS.

Apple Watch apps

Apple published a page that shows off a bunch of third-party apps that various developers are working on for the Apple Watch. As you can see, there are a lot of big name companies on board, like Target, American Airlines, Nike, MLB, Instagram, Starwood Hotels, and many more. Fitness, travel, shopping, fun, social networking, and even entertainment apps are all included on the page.

The more you wear Apple Watch, the more you’ll realize just how personal a device it is. Because with so many different apps available, you can choose the ones that are most relevant to you, and create a customized experience. There are already apps for airlines, department stores, social networks, and more that take advantage of the unique opportunities the wrist brings. And with new apps being built for Apple Watch every day, this is just the beginning.

Our guess is that the vast majority of these apps will be ready on day one, when the Apple Watch is released on April 24. See anything that surprises you on this list?

apple watch charging cable price

Apple has announced that the Apple Watch will get about 18 hours of battery life per charge, and that it will charge from empty to 80% in about 90 minutes, or to 100% in about two-and-a-half hours. That's long enough for most anybody, but if you find yourself needing to charge in the midde of the day, you should know about the Magnetic Charging Cable for the Apple Watch, which makes it super easy to charge. As you can see in the image above, the Magnetic Charging Cable snaps to the rear side of the Apple Watch, making it easy to apply. The Apple Watch itself will include one of these chargers, and if you need an extra, you can buy a 2 meter Magnetic Charging Cable for $39, or a shorter (and cheaper) 1 meter Magnetic Charging Cable for $29.

We've already given you the complete breakdown on the Apple Watch pricing, but what if you want to buy additional watch bands or other accessories from Apple? We've got the pricing for that as well, and depending on how fashionable you want to be, pricing can get pretty steep:

The prices listed would obviously be for purchasing an extra band for your Apple Watch, separate from what it already comes with. The question that remains now is, are you looking to pick up an extra band for your Apple Watch in order to switch it up for style or activity?

Apple Spring Forward Watch

Apple has sent out invitations to selected press for a special event that it's calling "Spring Forward" that takes place on Monday, March 8, 2015 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, California at 10:00am. While the company hasn't stated any sort of agenda or product focus for the event, it's obvious to anyone paying attention that this will be the place where the company will detail the Apple Watch in full, ahead of the April release of the timepiece. We expect that we will finally get a solid release date, possible pre-order date, and the information that everyone is waiting for--the price of all of the various Apple Watch lines (Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch, and Apple Watch Edition) and the models within.

Of course, Apple can also use this platform to reveal any number of other things, including that new 12-inch Retina MacBook Air that's been running the rumor mill for the better part of 6 months now, but we won't be holding our breath for that one. We'll have all the news right here as it happens from Apple's Spring Forward event, which is just 10 days away.
