Koss Striva wi-fi headphones

Step aside, Bluetooth, as Koss has just unveiled a new line of headphones that stream music wirelessly over Wi-Fi. The new headphone line is called Striva, and they access audio channels delivered from the Internet that you organized and choose using the MyKoss.com dashboard interface. In addition, you can also use any device that has a headphone port. You just plug in the CAP (content access point) and the headphones can then tune into music from devices like smartphones, tablets, etc.

To start, there'll be two Striva models on the market--the over-ear Striva Pro ($450 USD,) and the in-ear Striva Tap ($500,) both of which include touch-sensitive gesture-based technology that lets you switch channels and manage volume by using swipes and taps. Check out a video explaining it all below.

The battery life is somewhere around the three to four day mark (depending on use) and has a standby lifespan of 14 days per charge. The SmartWatch features interchangeable straps, so you can color coordinate it to your liking. Expect to pay $150 USD for this one.

Phosphor Appear watch review

Anyone who knows me know that I love anything pink. Throw some  rhinestones in, and that's the icing on the cake. That's why it was love at first sight when I noticed the Phosphor Appear watch on the wrist of a stranger at CES. Seriously, a watch that uses Swarovski crystals to display the time? After seeing it in action, we put it to the test. I've had the Phosphor Appear for a couple of weeks now. Is the watch as good as I first thought? Read on for our full review.

Magnus magnetic ipad stand review

The Apple Smart Cover is a convenient way to protect the display of your iPad, and can also double as a simple stand. However, there are times where you'd prefer to have something a little more sturdy, and a little more elegant, and that's where something like the Ten One Design Magnus Magnetic Stand for iPad comes in. The Magnus is a magnetic stand that works with the new iPad, as well as with the iPad 2, and even the original. I was able to get my hands on one and have been testing it for a bit. It's really a simply-but-elegant product, so there isn't much to it. How does it work, and will it fit in with your workflow? Head on down for our full review of the Magnus to find out!

VellVett performing at the 2014 Gear Live Holiday Bash

We just got our hands on the Ten One Design Magnus, a magnetic stand for the Apple iPad. The stand features a striking minimalist design that works with all three generations of iPad that have been released to date. It's made of a nice, hand-finished brushed aluminum look that matches the rear metallic casing on the iPad itself. They sell out pretty regularly, but you can find them on Amazon for $47. We'll have a full review up later today, but for now, enjoy these images showing off the Magnus.

Edit: And here's our Magnus iPad Stand review!

iPhone 4 couture case review

We recently got a chance to check out the Hub Innovations Couture Case for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. What sets this case apart from just about anything else out there is that it's decked out in Swarovski crystals, and in turn, definitely makes you stand out when you've got your iPhone in-hand or against your ear. We tried out the Punx Not Dead model in hot pink, but the cases are also available in black and white, with different crystal designs on each.

The pink Punx Not Dead Couture case was a super-girly attention-getter, and started more conversations than any accessory, hair, or makeup I've ever had.  I loved the bright pink color and the big heart and crown on the case. Visually, the pink, Swarovski crystal-encrusted Hub Innovations Couture case that wrapped my white iPhone 4S looked fantastic.

Unfortunately, all of the bling made the case feel pretty heavy, and by looking at it, we're sure you can tell that it was extremely hard (read: uncomfortable) to put in a pocket.  I also felt concerned about putting the case in my purse because I thought that some of the decorative pieces might fall off inside my bag or get caught on something.  In fact, after just a few days, the first few items came off of the case. I left the Couture case on my phone for over 2 weeks, certainly nowhere near the length of time that you'd think a case would start falling apart.

Chicbuds Chicboom review

I usually listen to music on my MacBook Air rather than on my iPhone or iPad, so initially I wasn't sure how much use I'd get out of the ChicBuds Chicboom. The Chicboom is a small, portable 2W amplified speaker that is attached to a key ring that lets you have a speaker wherever you are. It's super small, so it's not inconvenient by any means to have with you. You connect it to any device using the included 3.5mm stereo jack connection.
