You finally cleaned out that spare room that housed all the junk and sold it on eBay. What to do with the space now? List it for free on AirBed and Breakfast. Then when some weary traveler needs a room for the night you can make a bit of cash. The site lists over 600 cities in 68 countries. Whoever rents the room pays the site a surcharge so everybody is happy. We only had one problem with the concept. Do they screen renters or rentees? No matter. It is worth taking a peek for their video alone.

Engineer Creates iPhone Dog Treat Feeder

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Design, Handhelds, Videos,
Stephen Cooper, a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida, decided to take a CD spindle and an ioBridge, a smart board that requires very little skill and will set up an online interface page for you. Ninety minutes later he came up with a way to feed his pup Cooper remotely from his iPhone. Stephen explains on his site how you can make a similar gadget. We guess that his dog was happy once he got the hang of it, but we bet he would rather have had the 90 minutes with his best friend.

The official shopping season has begun, and we will be inundated with commercials over the next few weeks. We are already impressed with those from Apple and the BlackBerry Storm, and we are very pleased to see the repeat of one of our favorites. It features the voices of Steve Buscemi and Norm MacDonald touting the wonderfulness of the Go Phone. AT&T’s prepaid deal is a good one if your budget can’t handle a monthly bill and they offer up to a $20 bonus for every $100.00 you spend.

You know we love the hot electronic toys, so we ran, not walked to get an Elmo Live for our kids. We have to admit that if you want something your toddlers (and cats) will love, but will drive you bonkers, this is the toy to get. The bugger doesn’t move his legs, and sometimes the noise he makes is louder than his guffaws, but still we think that he will keep your kids amused for at least a couple of hours while you take a nap during the holiday hubbub. Besides, you can always try to sell it on eBay for a big chunk of change ($750.00 worth) like this person thinks he/she can. For the rest of us, Elmo goes for about $60.00.
