Here at Gear Live, we know just how popular the Beats by Dr. Dre line of headphones can be. After all, when we post about them, those are typically the most read items of the day. However, while they look good and have great endorsements behind them, some people prefer other models of headphones due to the audio profile. What is one to do if the Beats profile isn't the sound they crave, but the Beats look is exactly what they're looking for? One option is to grabs some spray paint and get to work.
Casey Neistat just posted a video on YouTube that shows how he turned a pair of Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones into Beats by Dr. Dre knockoffs. Sure, he may have sprayed over the microphone that the headphones rely on for noise cancellation, but sometimes that's the price you've gotta pay to look good.

That said, only one toy could truly capture our imagination and creativity—LEGO. So simple, yet so brilliant. Chrysler has been seeing record-breaking sales numbers lately, thanks both to successful redesigns on most of its cars, as well as its attention-getting ad campaign. That said, like all good things, a spoof or two makes a great ad even better. Saturday Night Live did its parody rendition of the ad, and now 30 Rock has jumped on board as well. Though this time, furniture selling was the name of the game. Check it out.

Rally car crashes into pole at full speed, only to recover and finish second (video!)

The world of rally racing isn’t one for the faint of heart. Hitting bends at break-neck speeds is sketchy enough on pavement, but add gravel and snow to that mix and you’ve got disaster waiting to happen. Here's an example. The drivers name is Crazy Leo (with a name like that you can expect something ridiculous to happen.) In this video, Leo hits a pole at full-throttle, and somehow still places second in this race. If you thought the hour or two job that you've spent detailing your car was up to snuff, your car-washing techniques are about to be proven frivolous, as it's nothing compared to the Polished Bliss 144-hour detail spent on a Ferrari. These guys, based out of UK, are true masters of the art. Seriously--if car washing was ever to be considered an art, this would be why. Since before-and-after pictures wouldn’t do the detail justice, a six-minute video was put together, which you can check out below.

Man dresses as Mr. Magoo, shoots unmanned squad car five times (video!)

Now we’re not fans of speed traps, nor do we like getting trolled by unmanned squad cars, but when and if the time comes, we cut our losses and take the ticket. The thing is, not everyone will have the same reaction.
Recently, a man down in the Santa Fe area wasn’t too happy about the empty vehicle keeping tabs on him. Dressed as Mr. Magoo (we aren’t sure if this is intentional or not,) he decided to take his revenge out on the unmanned vehicle by shooting five rounds into it. Luckily, the Redflex-operated squad car didn’t suffer much damage, nor did the onboard camera! Check out the video above as Mr. Magoo goes on a rampage.

Koss Striva headphones wirelessly stream music over Wi-Fi

Step aside, Bluetooth, as Koss has just unveiled a new line of headphones that stream music wirelessly over Wi-Fi. The new headphone line is called Striva, and they access audio channels delivered from the Internet that you organized and choose using the MyKoss.com dashboard interface. In addition, you can also use any device that has a headphone port. You just plug in the CAP (content access point) and the headphones can then tune into music from devices like smartphones, tablets, etc.
To start, there'll be two Striva models on the market--the over-ear Striva Pro ($450 USD,) and the in-ear Striva Tap ($500,) both of which include touch-sensitive gesture-based technology that lets you switch channels and manage volume by using swipes and taps. Leaked Samsung Galaxy S III surfaces in Vietnam

Normally we wouldn’t trust leaks that come out of Asia since you have to take them with a grain of salt due to the fact that there are so many realistic fakes out there, but on occassion, there are some newsworthy items. Such is the case for the Samsung Galaxy S III, which was spotted on Vietnamese site Tinhte.
Currently, the smartphone goes by the mundane name of GT-I9300. However, if Samsung plans on sticking to its current naming scheme it’ll be called the Galaxy S III, and it should be fantastic. According to Tinhte, the phone boasts a 4.6-inch display with 720 x 1184 resolution. The phone is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smoothly. The phone features 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage that's expandable using the micro SD slot. For those that are addicted to Instagram, you’ll be able to shoot away using the 8 megapixel camera, and the phone is also equipped with NFC.
Since this is a prototype, expect the external look of the phone may change slightly. We’re assuming that Samsung will drop the tacky plastic rim around the handset, for example. Samsung has gone on the record by neither denying nor claiming the GT-I9300 as the next Galaxy S III, only stating “We will be able to tell you more at the 2012 Samsung Mobile Unpacked.” So we’ll just have to wait and see. Idiot drives motorcycle at 185 MPH down the freeway (video)

We realize that there ar eplenty of videos on YouTube that leave you asking “How stupid do you have to be?” This applies to the video above, which comes from a 25-year-old Canadian. This gentleman has had his license suspended, and has an unhealthy need for speed.
The video shows him racing a Yamaha R1 down the Trans-Canadian Highway at a staggering speed of 185 miles per hour. On top of his idiocy, he also has 25 traffic infractions to his name, which leaves police (and the rest of us) asking why he isn’t behind bars.
If you need a quick adrenaline rush to get through your day, don't do this. Instead, we suggest two cups of coffee and a Red Bull. Then, hit play on the video and set it to full screen, and blast your speakers to get a good sensation of how it might feel flying down the Canadian Highway.

Dyson challenges its engineers to build racers from spare parts (video!)

UK-based vacuum cleaner manufacturer Dyson recently held a competition to see which of its engineers could design the fastest racecar using just spare vacuum cleaner parts. Just like the vacuum clears, there were some very creative car ideas. Some worked well, while others were novel in concept only. Check out the video above to see the geekiest race to take place so far this year.
