The universal dock is compatible with any dockable iPod with its array of connectors, has a digital amp, a built-in subwoofer, and auto-shutoff. It also has an auxiliary in-jack for non-docking iPods, CD players, and other MP3 players. What kind of life do you have when, to let your loved one know you care, you make a bovine noise to them via USB? Someone must have thought that was a clever idea and invented the MooMoo. Note that two different voices are used when the cow’s magic button is pushed, but we are thinking that in the grand scheme of things, this is still a lot of bull. Can you say IM? Can you say e-mail? Can you say telephone?

Digital Camera Mask Takes Underwater Shots

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Cameras, Misc. Tech, USB,
Anyone who has attempted underwater photography knows that getting a good shot is not the easiest thing in the world, especially if your instinct is to swim far away from a creature that looks like it wants you for a snack. Liquid Image has come up with a solution by designing a scuba mask with a cam built-in and tempered glass goggles with cross hairs to get a perfect shot.
The Digital Camera Mask features a 5 megapixel camera that can shoot 18 to 25 fps VGA in high and low resolution down to a depth of 30 m. It holds 16MB flash memory, has auto-off, and displays what you shoot on LCD. If you need more memory, add a microSD card. After you capture, you can simply download by USB, although ArcSoft Software is included for editing. The mask needs 2 AAA batteries (not included) and carries a MSRP of $99.99.

Woo Hoo! The Homer Simpson USB Hub

Posted by Lolita Beckwith Categories: Accessories, USB, PC / Laptop, Peripherals, Toys,

If you worship Homer Simpson—and in particular his questionable work ethic—check out this fun USB hub. Not only can you plug 4 USB
peripherals in it, just press the button and Homey spins around in his chair yelling “Woo Hoo!”. Classic! A must-have for the Homer fanatic. The base is 4” in diameter, and the hub is 5.5” tall. We love it, but think it’s a little pricey at $48 USD. But that probably won’t matter to the most hardcore “Simpsons” fans.

It’s a Dirty Job for the USB Vacuum Cleaner

Posted by Lolita Beckwith Categories: Accessories, USB, PC / Laptop,
If you like a spotless cubicle…check out the USB Desk Vacuum Cleaner. We admit the concept sounds a little ridiculous, even when compared to the wackiest USB gadgets. But this retro-looking vacuum actually works, making it a great—and amusing—way to keep your desk clean of crumbs, and it’s certainly more fun than boring old Windex and paper towels. Just beware that owning one could earn you the rep of being the “quirky one” at your job….that is, if you care about such things. Currently sold out, you can pre-order for $64 USD.

We always wonder when we find gadgets that we cannot trace farther than the vendor who tells you almost nothing about the product. Such is the case with the Crystal Pyramid Santa USB 2.0 4-Port Hub. We know it is 3.78 x 3.78 x 3.94-inches and weighs 11.36 oz. We are going to assume here that when plugged in it doubles as a snow globe. That could be a nice touch until the movement drives your entire office nutso. We didn’t notice an on/off switch. The Santa will silently ho-ho-ho for you at a price of $13.86 with free shipping for the holidays.

Mario Shroom Lamps Shine by USB

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Smart Home, Misc. Tech, Video Games, USB,
We cannot believe the overabundance of USB gadgets that continue to pour into our e-mail boxes at an alarming rate. It may have something to do with putting out one more gadget before the holidays that we cannot do without. We know we have lots of Mario fans out there so we had to include these Mushroom Lamps. Made with a white LED, it is 13 cm around with a base size of 10.8 x 14 cm and weighs 161g. If you don’t have an available USB port, just pop in 4 AA batteries (not included.) It available in three colors for only $13.00.
(Thanks, Fanny)
