For those who want more color in their lives, Luxeed’s Dynamic Pixel LED Keyboard should do the trick. With 430 LEDs, each key can light up when you press it or you can get a wide variety of lighting settings that can be saved on four preset buttons. The keyboard comes in black or white at a size of 15 x 7.5 x 1-inch and has a standard USB connection. Compatible with Windows XP/Vista, Mac or Linux users can get the keyboard but will have no effects. The Luxeed peripheral will set you back $199.99 and if you want a matching keypad that doesn’t light up, it is an additional $34.99. Frankly, they make us a bit dizzy.

And yet another cheapy mini-cam hits the market. The Busbi Video Digital Camera is made for those who want simple. It features only 4 buttons: on/off, delete, playback, and record. With a 2-inch LCD screen, attach by USB to play back on your computer or hook up to your TV with the included AV cable. The Busbi comes with a 1GB SD card for about 60 minutes, and you can upgrade to a 2 GB card for making those epic 2 hour videos. Send them to YouTube or other social networks. Meninos Design Studio Hard Drive Case

Brazil’s Meninos Design Studio were making custom USB hard drive cases for their friends and they were so popular that they decided to go public. Each one is hand-assembled in acrylic with a vinyl wrapper. You also have the option of uploading your own design with their custom template. Expect designer prices of $250.00 for only a case, or $400.00 to $620.00 for those with drives. We bet they could expand to make flash drives and clean up.

RIchard Solo Smart Backup Battery Pack rocks for iPhone 3G

Anyone who has picked up an iPhone 3G knows that the battery, while great for a 3G phone, still leaves a lot to be desired. It’s simply no fun when your phone warns you that you have 20% power left while you are in the middle of your lunch break. Heck, I don’t even need to leave the house to go to work, and even I have issues with the battery. During E3 2008, I had to be careful with my iPhone usage if I didn’t want the phone to run out of juice. Since I am going to be taking a trip to NYC this week, I wanted to be sure I was armed with a backup.
After doing some looking around, I came across this Richard Solo Smart Backup Battery Pack for the iPhone. In all actuality, it works with the iPhone as well as any iPod with a dock connector. It basically holds a charge that is similar to about 80% of the iPhone battery. That means that if you see your iPhone give you that 20% warning, you just plug this thing in, and it will charge it back to full. That is cool.
Even better though, you can charge the iPhone or iPod and the Backup Battery at the same time. You plug in the battery to your phone, and then connect the battery to the charger. This will first charge your device, and then once that is done, it will charge the battery. So if you do this overnight, you have a fully charged phone, and backup battery, when you walk out the door. Love it.
The device is thin enough to not be burdensome at all, reminding me of an iPod nano. I am gonna give this a try during this next week, where I will definitely be out and about and using my iPhone on a near-constant basis, being the awesome road warrior that I am.
