Scrabble Keyboard

“Datamancer” does keyboards in a very unique way. This is his latest commissioned design with hand-beveled keys that really were Scrabble tiles. Made for a Mac, it has a brushed aluminum casing, LED lit number, caps, and scroll lock and fits into a USB port. Take a look at some of Datamancer’s other creations that include steampunk keyboards made of antique typewriters and an HP ZT1000 laptop that looks like a music box.

Lego CameraDigital Blue has teamed with Lego to bring an entire line of kids’ gadgets out to play. Included in the series will be a digital cam, a video camera, MP3 player, walkie talkie and other electronics. Although they will have the look of the blocks, fortunately the users cannot dissemble them. Look for a summer release. We bet this would be a good gift for those Lego addicted friends of yours as well as the kidlets.

Once in a while we just have to let you know about something that adds no value to your life except for that of amusement. The Poking Box, (aka Tuttuki Bako in Japanese,) allows you to stick your finger inside and supposedly gives you the same sensation you would have by touching the onscreen figures. The silly gadget carries a MSRP of $49.99. We expect now someone will come up with something that will duplicate the sensation of pulling one’s finger.

Cloud 9If you ever had a Radio Flyer, you might be amazed at the wagon of the future. The Cloud 9 features safety harnesses, padded seats, foot brakes, storage containers and cup holders. Even better, the prototype will have a digital handle to keep track of temperature, time, distance and speed. The is also a slot for an MP3 player and a speaker.

“We approached this product much like an automotive company might with a concept car,” said Mark Johnson, Radio Flyer’s product development manager.

We guess it is going to be a while before this one becomes the real thing. Until then, your tots will have to carry their iPods on their tricycles.

Kota the Triceratops

Here’s one that the kids are sure to love - Kota the Triceratops is a rideable dinosaur. Did you catch that? A life-sized baby dinosaur to be exact, Kota is 40-inches long, and has a spring-loaded seat and handle. He also sports a smile on his face, which should mean that children won’t be scared of him. Kota has 11 sensores, so it reacts intelligently to sound as well as touch. He will react by turning his head, tail, horns, or even by roaring. You can also feed him some leaves, which will cause the dino to make a munching sound. The best part? Kota sells for $299 - but Amazon is currently selling him for just $150 - that is 50% off! Better hurry though, no telling how long that deal will last.

The organization found lead in some that came from China as well as several manufactured in the U.S. This is the second year that the organization has created its consumer guide. We suggest you head over there before you hit your local dollar store or discount retailer. And if you are out shopping, you can SMS text 41411 with the toy name and HealthyToys will let you know the chemical levels.

MarioToy

We had to share this collection of images that show you what we have long suspected, that after we go out for the evening or to bed, our toys really do come out and play. The images include Lego figures, evil Muppets, Happy Tree Friends, Star Wars action figures, Wall-E, and Mario and his buddies. We wonder if the collection’s creators were into “Robot Chicken” or simply caught them in the act.
