Cube Art Lego Machine

We remember going to Legoland a few years back and noticed that adults played with the blocks as much as the kidlets. (They are placed at the various restaurants in the park.) We are amazed at all of the genuine artists that continue to work with Legos and Rubik’s Cubes to make creations. Check out this collection that is incredibly impressive. Designs vary from the Rubik’s puzzle to Zach Clapsadle’s amazing LEGO Steam Machines.

USB ChameleonWe never tire of USB toys and found one of the reptilian ilk. Sit the Chameleon on your monitor or desk and plug him in with the included 1m cable. The 12cm long creature will rotate his eyes and randomly flick his tongue. The Chameleon is available in three different color patterns for £12.99 (~$25.33.) At the very least, it will scare off any anamatronic flies or mosquitoes in the area.

Interaction Wall-EHow could we not pay homage to our newest and favest bot? Wall-E debuted today and although we couldn’t make the premiere, we did notice that there are already a truckload of toys and other tie-ins, like this Interaction Wall-E. The little guy’s eyes light up, he moves his head and arms, and has the original movie voice and sound effects. If that isn’t enough, when you talk to him, he responds and, if you are too busy, can communicate with Interaction Eve. At a size of 6.5 x 10.5 x 8.5-inches and a weight of 2.1 pounds, we found one on Amazon for $43.99.

CJ7 Dog MP3 PlayerThis wins our award for the ugliest MP3 Player on the planet. The CJ7 Dog Doll has built-in speakers and 1GB flash memory via USB. At a size of 3.19 x 1.34 x 3.35-inches and a weight of 6.98 oz., the creature comes with what the site describes as a “cute dog doll outfit.” Uh huh. No doubt Paris Hilton might find this amusing, but for $18.67, we think we will pass until they come up with one that works without the fru-fru.

It’s been a while since we have been to a Disney Park and notice that technology has come a long way. Their Toy Story Midway Mania is a 3-D gaming experience that was created with help from the Pixar folks. The attraction includes an animatronic Mr. Potato Head barker and a swiveling ride that takes you past a series of virtual games. Each of the five is based on a different Toy Story character. While you can’t actually win anything, virtual prizes are awarded. A central PC-based gaming control is run by a computer farm that consist of about 150 computers, including one Windows XP PC from HP for each of the 56 game screens.

Bank QuestTakara Tomy has yet another toy for the masses. This time it is Bank Quest, a combination RPG and change bank. The more money you put inside, the more weapons and armor you can “buy” to avenge the baddies. The bank can hold up to about ¥50,000 (~$466.00,) runs on 3 AA batteries (not included,) and should be available for those who have spare change around August. At least in this instance, as opposed to those gathering places we call arcades, you actually get to keep the coinage when you play the game.

TribotWowWee has finally moved on from their inane Chatterbots to bring us all the Tribot, which we first introduced you to in February from the CES. Obviously named for its three-wheeled base, the bot can move in 8 directions (including diagonal.)The kewl tilt trigger button allows you to move him in directions by just moving the remote around. He will also tell jokes and stories and refers to himself as “the most rad robot in the galaxy.”

Wait, there’s more. Use Tribot as a guard against alien bots or dogs, as an alarm that needs a tap on the head to shut him up, challenge him to a game of hide and seek, or play one of three driving games. We would have been happy if he just cleaned up our room.
