Dasur’s ThumbKey claims to be the answer to your QWERTY keyboard frustration with your handheld. It identifies intended keys through size and position of fingers rather than being spot on. Algorithms process the typed letters. All this sounds like a good thing because the letters look tiny in the video (where it is referred to as ThumbIt.) It has word recognition by using only the first few letters and supports all versions of Microsoft Windows Mobile. The ThumbKey will set you back $25.00 or you can download a demo for fifteen days free to test it out.

luxeed

Lusting after an Optimus Maximus OLED keyboard?  Don’t have the $1600 to drop on such a luxurious - albeit “OMGcooooool” - peripheral, especially when you already have a keyboard that (I’m assuming) works?  We just might have found you a happy medium.  The Luxeed Dynamic Pixel LCD keyboard retails for a comparatively bargain price of $199.99 (tack on an extra $35 if you need a keypad, though that won’t light up).  You won’t get the awesome program-specific key layouts like the Optimus features, but you will get the pretty colors and soft lighting, all of which are programmable with the included software.  ThinkGeek is currently the only place in the States that the Luxeed is available, so get those credit cards ready!

Clip-and-Go MouseOne of the reasons that some of us don’t do notebooks is because of the touchpad. Not only is it a pain, the keyboard is too far away. The V550 Nano Cordless Clip-and-Go Laser Mouse for Notebooks helps to solve part of the problem. The receiver is coin-sized and plugs into your notebook’s USB port. It features hyper-fast scrolling and click-to-click mode. Logitech promises 18 months of battery life and, if you forget, it has auto-shutdown when docked. The 2.4 GHz wireless mouse is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS X and comes with 2 docks, a USB extension stand, 2 AA batteries, and dock-removal tool for $59.99.

Asus Pulse Rate Laser MouseThe Asus Vit W1 Laser Mouse does everything else your old mouse can do plus it has a pulse rate sensor that lies beneath its plastic skin. The wireless device has a 30 ft. range, 5 buttons, a mini-USB receiver, and 12 dpi. We don’t know about you, but just knowing that we will be monitored would make us nervous and have an elevated heart rate. Especially if the little happy face starts to frown.

For those who want more color in their lives, Luxeed’s Dynamic Pixel LED Keyboard should do the trick. With 430 LEDs, each key can light up when you press it or you can get a wide variety of lighting settings that can be saved on four preset buttons. The keyboard comes in black or white at a size of 15 x 7.5 x 1-inch and has a standard USB connection. Compatible with Windows XP/Vista, Mac or Linux users can get the keyboard but will have no effects. The Luxeed peripheral will set you back $199.99 and if you want a matching keypad that doesn’t light up, it is an additional $34.99. Frankly, they make us a bit dizzy.

Simpson Helmet MouseSimpson motorcycle fans will love this helmet that is actually a mouse made by motopuran. The device is licensed and built to scale with an optical system of 600 dpi, left and right click buttons, and a scroll wheel. Choose between black, silver, red, and yellow. Compatible with Windows 98 and newer and Mac OSX, the USB mouse comes with a removable cord for displaying for ¥2,380 (~$22.00.) That’s pretty clever but we think we will wait for the Harley version.
