The Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is a Mad World [Video]
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Microsoft, Video Games, Videos,
Microsoft is set to release the remastered Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One in just over a week, and today the launch trailer was released, bringing back the Mad World title track that was used years ago with the original. You can watch the trailer after the break, which includes all new in-game footage that shows just how great Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is going to look once it hits Xbox One consoles. The original Mad World trailer is recognized as one of the most memorable video game trailers of all time, due to its use of emotion to convey the heavy situation that the Gears would be facing.
Gear of War: Ultimate Edition is completely remastered, and runs in 1080p at 60fps, even in multiplayer. The game will be available on August 25th, and you can pre-order it now. If you don't have an Xbox One yet, there is even a Gear of War: Ultimate Edition console bundle.

Sling TV, the service that streams live TV to customers, has launched on Xbox One this morning, making it the first game console to provide access to Sling TV subscribers. The Xbox One joins Roku and Fire TV devices, Android, iOS, Macs, and PCs in providing Sling TV support.
“Sling TV and Xbox are a natural pairing; two out of three millennials think of themselves as gamers, while nearly nine out of 10 watch live sports on TV,” said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV. “Today’s Xbox One customers have been some of the most passionate about Sling TV since the beginning, and now we’re pleased to bring them live TV on their favorite gaming console.”
Specific Xbox One features for Sling TV include the ability to use Kinect gestures and voice commands to control the app, and the ability to Snap Sling TV besides other activities. Current Xbox One owners who download the app will receive one month of Sling TV for free. If you buy an Xbox One between March 17 and March 25, 2015, you'll get three free months of Sling TV service to try out.
In addition to the Xbox One news, Dish Network's streaming television service is also announcing a bunch of new channels that are now available to subscribers. Windows 10: Microsoft previews the next iteration of Windows
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Corporate News, Microsoft, PC / Laptop, Software,
Today, Microsoft officially announced the next version of Windows: Windows 10. If you’re confused, you’re not alone. The currently-available version of Windows is 8.1, which means that Microsoft has inexplicably decided to forego version 9 altogether. Rumors that the next version would be called Windows TH, Windows One, or Windows 9 have now been dashed—Windows 10 is the future of Microsoft’s desktop operating system. It’s also still technically the 9th release of Windows.
At an unveiling event earlier today, the company called Windows 10 the “most comprehensive platform ever,” as it will run on all displays, from 4-inches and up. That means Windows 10 will run on phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, servers, and high definition television screens. “Windows 10 will deliver the right experience on the right device at the right time," said Microsoft's Terry Myerson. "Windows 10 will run on the broadest types of devices ever."
Optimists will say that Microsoft is listening to all of the negative backlash that was met with the release of Windows 8, taking in that feedback, and reverting a bunch of changes to give customers what they want. Others will point out that Windows 10 looks like a mashup of the beloved Windows 7 and the polarizing Windows 8, with a bunch of Mac OS X features (like Expose and Mission Control) thrown in, and is an obvious step backwards. We see both sides of the argument, but it’s also very early to tell, as Windows 10 won’t ship until late 2015.
