As our early holiday gift, we have found that Santa is trackable tonight, thanks to the North American Aerospace Defense Command. As near as they can figure, at 4:00 a.m. ET Santa left the North Pole. Other sightings are as follows: New Zealand 4:40 a.m., Japan 7:35 a.m., Great Wall of China 9:50 a.m., India 11:25 a.m., Cairo 3:00 p.m., Rome 4:40 p.m., Germany 5:10 p.m., Paris 6:00 p.m., and London 6:55 p.m. Looks like he is on his way to the States. Don’t forget to leave him some cookies and a carrot or two for his faithful steeds.

A baby Jesus statue was taken from a nativity scene in Bal Harbour’s Founders Circle, Florida, although it was bolted down at the time. Cincinnati attorney Jeffrey Harris read about the crime online and generously replaced it with a new one. Dina Cellini, the overseer of the display, has equipped the new figure and its ceramic parents with GPS devices to avoid the same event happening again. We are thinking that this might be an excellent strategy for protecting our lawn gnomes, too.
(Thanks, Mike)

Britain’s monarch, Queen Elizabeth, has her own YouTube page, known as “The Royal Channel,” of course. It features recent and archival TV clips, as well as many of her speeches to the “little people.” The site has already had over 225,000 hits and has gotten the most hits this week, proof positive once again that if you want to get the word out, the Internet is the place to do it.
Tomorrow she will be posting a new “Queen’s Speech” for 2007 at 3:00 p.m GMT. Until then, you can be content with some of her 1957 Christmas Greetings. And we didn’t even know she was into computers. What’s next, Prince Philip and Camilla on MySpace?

Somewhat similar to ScroogeYourself is Santa Swing. It was created by Oddcast for Everyclick to draw attention to its search engine that helps more than 170,000 charities each time it’s used. Use your own photos or theirs, then upload a message that will be translated to audio or add your own sound files. Pass them on to your blog, Facebook, or friends. Try it yourself and remember to use Everyclick as your new search engine if you can get over Googling.

A new survey conducted by Harris Interactive with 2,455 U.S. adults concluded that about 65% of them have watched a video on YouTube, compared to only 42% last year. Forty two percent of viewers said that they visit the site frequently, a rise of 33% from last year. Forty three percent say they have seen videos on a TV network while less view them on news sites and search engines. Frankly, we are wondering why they even bothered to conduct the survey, and instead should realize that, as the survey also determined, there will be more TV and movie watching online when the networks and studios get a clue.

Zwinktopia has followed in the path of Armani in Second Life now that Shoebuy has decided to sell its products through the site. Paying with her/his ZCard, an avatar will receive an “exclusive” pair that will allow the “wearer” to perform a specific action for each brand. While this particular gimmick will probably wear off quickly in the typical Zwink user, the company is smart enough to make it a tie-in so that the two of you can click over to the Shoebuy site and select similar wearing apparel. That obviously means real $$ for the shoe conglomerate.

Cyber-Lover Will Steal Your Identity

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Corporate News, Internet,
The Internet security company PC Tools has found a new software bot that is designed to flirt online on social networking sites for the purpose of ripping you off. Cyber-Lover will initiate conversation and respond in chat rooms up to 20 times an hour, and is apparently difficult to detect since it varies its profiles, vocabulary, and tones. Eventually, it will inquire as to your name address and phone number. It then seeks other info on the Net to include website, photos and blogs. While we don’t know of very many who chat using their real names, we are certainly glad that most of us try to remain anonymous whenever possible (hehehe.)

Canadian Sells Son’s Guitar Hero in Protest of the Evil Weed

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Internet, Music, Videos,
Poor Isaac. His dad caught him smoking pot in his backyard with a couple of buds and decided to punish him by selling his Guitar Hero III on eBay. The Canadian father went into detail about the circumstances surrounding the acquisition of the Wii game in the first place and offered to be talked out of it, but apparently the thought of the $9,100.01 bid was too much of a temptation and turned him into a Scrooge. We are not quite sure which one was the naughtier of the two.
