We cannot believe that there is yet another e-gadget for those with a nicotine habit. Ruyan America’s Vegas Freestyle E-cigar is 5.6-inches long with a 50 ring size. It dispenses “1800 mouthfuls of vapor,” the equivalent of a carton of cigarettes. The Vegas comes fully charged with a 16mg cartridge. Like their E-cigarette, there is no smoke and can be used in places where the habit is taboo. The E-cigar is available at Sunridge Distribution for $45.00 or $200.00 for a 5-pack, in case you want to share the experience.

We dig Minibar System’s SmartCube, a mini-fridge which is meant for hotel usage. In sizes of 22.71 x 15.83 (65W) or 19 (70W) x 17.75, it features blue and white crystal LEDs. The mini-frig comes with a remote contral with software to regulate locking, lighting, product expiration, inventory, and happy hour pricing. We like that last feature and although we realize this is too expensive for the average human, perhaps some entrepreneur will develop one for the rest of us.

Icetris Ice Cube Tray

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Design, Smart Home, Misc. Tech, Video Games,
Isn’t it ironic that the Icetris cube trays were created by a Russian design shop? Designer Dima Komissarov of Mystake came up with the idea and we expect that you could play a round or two before they completely melted. Then again, if you played the game until you saw Tetris shapes in your dreams, you might want to pass. There is no date set to make the prototype into a reality as yet, but you might want to encourage Dima all the same.

Pet Eye View Digital Camera

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Cameras, Smart Home, Misc. Tech, USB,
Would you really what to know what your dog or cat has been up to? Now you can with Uncle Milton’s Pet Eye View Digital Camera. The mini-cam clips to your pet’s collar as the built-in timer automatically takes pictures every 1, 5, or 15 minutes. It has a water-resistant ABS housing and comes with a lithium-ion battery, and USB cable and charger. While the gadget is creative, we are not sure we would spend the $44.99 to see images of dust bunnies and ancient crumbs that our cat would find behind the refrigerator.

For those who tend to use the same old crummy sponge/dishrag to clean counters and rearrange the bacteria, student designer Paul Oxley has created the Aquavac Tea Towel. The kitchen mini-wet vacuum will also clean up crumbs and dry your hands, as well as pots and pans. Oxley says, “Every year millions of people get food poisoning and between 100 and 200 people a year die from it. I found that one of the main ways of spreading the bacteria responsible for most cases is through the use of tea towels.“
Good point, good try, and maybe when it gets past the prototype stage, we will clean up all our acts.

No more dull “ding-dong” with the iChime. Microsystems Development has come up with a doorbell that comes with 50 pre-recorded songs, spooky sounds, animal noises, tv and movie themes, and traditional chimes. In addition, the “play anything” device has a built-in mic so that you can record your own tunes or sound effects. Now you can play Japanese Chef with the Grill n Table. Six students in Quebec teamed up to design this prototype that combines an aluminum grill with wooden patio furniture. The group, known as the Dial_6 Faction, were told to create something to “encourage” the use of aluminum. The table will seat up to eight diners who can watch the master/mistress of the house prepare dinner and chat at the same time. Just watch out for cooks who like to toss their burgers.
