Security Bots Double as Domestics

In an effort to make a few extra holiday bucks, Mobile Robots has decided that its surveillance bots can do double duty. Jeeves will greet your friends at the door with “Welcome to our home” and a tray of drinks, but we are assuming that you have to open the door yourself. Brewskibot is capable of carrying 2 6-packs in its fridge and can patrol your home or office in its spare time. Agent 007 will also serve as security with its built-in camera but can scare your buds by yelling, “Police, freeze!”
The real point that they are making here is that you can make your robot a part of the family, rather than just a service object. Now if they could just offer them cheaply enough for us to bring one home. The bots will set you back $30,995.00, $31,995.00, and $34,995.00 respectively.

South Korean Sim Jae-Duck is the head of the World Toilet Association. In order to raise funds for over 2.6 billion worlwide who have no bathroom facilities, he is building a 1.6 million dollar house about 24 miles south of Seoul. Named Haewoojae, the 4,508 square foot cement and glass building contains two bedrooms, two guest rooms, and three deluxe toilets, of course. The house’s grand opening will be November 11, and if you would like to book it for a day, it will cost you $50,000. That will buy a lot of toilets, and sufficient TP to go with it.

Next time you receive those useless CDs from AOL, do what Spanish Designer Belen Hermosa did with his Panda Chair. It was recently unveiled at the International Furniture Fair in Valencia. We’re not sure about the comfort factor, but the idea is a viable one. If you score enough of the useless discs, you could probably build an entire living room suite, including end tables and ottomans. Then you could recover your patio deck, build furniture for the kids’ treehouse, and start selling items at swap meets. Just you wait, IKEA, you have tentative competition.

We haven’t been this excited since our last viewing of “Willie Wonka.” Flavorleague, a wall covering company in New Orleans, has developed scratch and sniff wallpaper. Still recovering from Katrina, the company is hard at work and recently introduced their Fruit Cocktail Collection. The Flavor Paper includes B-A-N-A-N-A-S, Cherry Forever, and Tutti Fruitti. We dig the fact that they contribute a portion of all sales to the Human Rights Campaign. We’re hoping that they will create Snozzberries to go with the rest of the collection.
