Yahoo unleashes Flickr redesign, users get 1TB free storage
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Corporate News, Design, Internet,
Yahoo just completely redesigned its Flickr photo sharing service, putting the images front and center, and giving each user a full 1TB of data. That's right--every Flickr user get 1 full terabyte of data to store their images. As Flickr says, "we want all of your images," according to Adam Cahan, Yahoo SVP. The point here is that FLickr is offering you up to 7- times more storage space than other sites, stores your photos in full resolution, and can hold about 537,731 of your images. That is simply unmatched by any other Yahoo competitor. In fact, at Google I/O last week, Google was excited to announce 15GB of storage for your images--a full 985GB less than what Flickr is now offering.
Alongside the Flickr redesign, there's now a new Android app. The iOS app was recently updated as well. What do you think of the new Flickr? Awesome? Too little, too late? Sound off in the comments!

Check out this life-sized homemade Skeletor sculpture [Video]
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Design, Toys, Videos,
If you were a child of the '80s, you probably remember He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon that was on television every weekday afternoon. He-Man would do his best to rid Eternia of Skeletor. I remember going to Macy's in NYC as a four-year-old and getting to "meet" a life-sized, robotic He-Man that was signing autographs. There was no Skeletor equivalent though, until now. The life-sized Skeletor replica is molded and sculpted based on the dimensions of the action figure. Check out the video after the break for more on the construction of Skeletor.

Monster announces Inspiration Hublot luxury headphones
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Accessories, Design, Music, Portable Audio / Video,
This morning Monster announced the Inspiration Hublot, its new premium luxury over-ear headphones. We're sure our readers are familiar with Monster and its popular headphone products, but if you're unfamiliar with Hublot, it's a company that stands as one of the most awe-inspiring watchmakers in the world. The end result of the collaboration between the luxury watchmaker and the premium headphone make is the Inspiration Hublot.
So, what makes the Inspiration Hublot so great? According to Monster, these luxury noise canceling headphones are constructed with precision parts and fine-tooled machining with a black and carbon fiber appearance. Monster is also debuting its new Enigma Audio Engine with Inspiration Hublot, which it says focuses on delivering crystal clear sound and a realistic soundscape, alongside "the world's most advanced digital noise cancellation," which uses two microphones--one for handling constant noise, and the other for intermittent sounds. The headphones also support A2DP for wireless Bluetooth with AAC and APT-X codec support, and direct USB audio. The headphones also include two audio cables--a standard Monster Pro Link, and a ControlTalk Universal, which allows you to control volume, answer and take phone calls, etc.
As for when you can get your hands on them, the Inspiration Hublot headphones will hit Hublot stores across the world this summer, just make sure you start saving, because they'll cost 1,750 Euros--or $2,276.

Google Glass units are starting to land in the hands of developers who've signed up for the early Explorer Edition of the device, and images and videos are making their way to the Internet with the quickness. For example, Brandon Allgood posted an image of Glass unboxed to his Google+ page, showing everything it comes with. If you're curious, along with Glass, Explorers also get two different visor lenses (clear and shaded,) a carrying bag with a hard plastic area, AC adapter, and a USB cable for charging all in a Nexus-like box. Hard to believe that Google Glass is finally here, but the units are making their way out into the wild. Google says that it hopes to release Glass to the masses before the end of the year.

Massive LEGO Hogwarts at Emerald City Comic Con [Video]
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Design, Videos,
If you weren't able to make it to Emerald City Comic Con, then you missed the awesome LEGO Hogwarts that was built by Alice Finch. This thing took a year to build, and then had to be taken apart and sectioned in order to be brought to ECCC. It took six minivans to transport it, and three hours to get everything back in place. That's 400,000 LEGO bricks, over 250 minifigures, and no glue. Check out the video after the jump that shows off the reconstruction, and just how how LEGO Hogwarts is.

Yahoo rolls out redesigned homepage
Posted by John Kilhefner Categories: Corporate News, Design, Internet,
Yahoo is rolling out its redesigned homepage today, as promised by CEO Marissa Mayer in a blog post last Wednesday. In it, Mayer wrote that the newly designed landing page will be more "intuitive and personal." The redesign was tested in January, and now will start rolling out to everyone "over the next few days." The new page is more streamlined than ever, giving more prominence to Yahoo's most notable services: email, news, finance and sports. What's more, Yahoo now has a stream in the vein of Twitter. The stream has an infinite stream of news, as well as social features such as the ability to see content recommended by Facebook friends.
