Okay, we gotta hand it to these guys - when you put it like this, I guess Wii really can seem lame. Unfortunately, a lot of games utilize similar mechanics as are found in this parody. However you feel about Nintendo‘s money-making machine, this one is definitely good for a laugh.

Okay, Wii Fit launches in May 21 peeps. Stores are throwing signage up all over the place, and it appears the first actual test of your fitness will be fighting the crowds in an attempt to get your hands on the game. We’ve already seen it going for as much as $210 USD on eBay - and the game costs less than $100. Yeah, this is gonna be fun. Thanks, Nintendo.

Now, we’ve seen custom wedding cake toppers before, but these Mii cake toppers are just…fantastic. I mean, who wouldn’t want a pair of Mii characters - which look vaguely like you - standing atop their cake on one of the most important days of their lives? The best part, to us at least, is that this is a way of geeking out a bit at your wedding, without going way over the top. Those who have no clue what a Mii - or even Wii - even is, will still “get” that you were simply putting a visual representation of yourself on your cake. They run for $140 USD and are available from MiiSculptures.
The question is, would you do it?

Rock out with the Air Guitar T-Shirt
Posted by Lolita Beckwith Categories: Accessories, Casual, Culture, Music,
If you’re a fan of the Guitar Hero and Rock Band, we’ve got a T-shirt for you. The design on this tee bears a striking resemblance to the faux guitar that comes with those, games so you’re guaranteed to be the star of the show when wearing one. Or for ultimate geekiness, you can crank up some Led Zep and make like the lad in the photo above. But we suggest you only do that around those who truly “get you”. Available in both men’s and women’s sizes for only $12 USD.

Space Invaders baseball caps
Posted by Lolita Beckwith Categories: Accessories, Casual, Culture, Retro,
Last year we featured lots of Space Invaders stuff, such as the bling, welcome mat, tote bag and even a baby mobile. Well we just found out the classic video game turns 30 this year. To celebrate, manufacturer Taito and New Era caps have teamed up to release a collection of seven black, fitted-style 59Fifty caps embroidered with the game’s characters. We think they’re a tad pricey at $57 each, but think of how great it will go with this scarf. According to StrictlyFitteds.com, the caps are available at Cap Collector One and New Era.

WALL-E GameCube case mod is awesome
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Culture, Mods/Hacks, Nintendo, Nintendo Gamecube,
Allow us to introduce you to what just might be the cutest case mod we’ve ever seen - a GameCube made to look like WALL-E. We are sure this was no easy feat, what with the usage of acrylic paint, metal, plastic, and even plexiglass. If you haven’t heard, WALL-E is the star of the next Pixar film, WALL-E. Yeah, we know. Anyhow, the little robot was cute enough in the movie’s trailer - even more so in GameCube form. We knew Nintendo‘s little-box-that-could still had some sort of value left in it.

Nintendo’s Girl Gamer Magazine is in the Pink
Posted by Lolita Beckwith Categories: Culture, Nintendo,
We were very excited to see that there’s a gaming magazine dedicated to females—but we admit to having some reservations. Currently available in the UK, we feel Nintendo’s “Girl Gamer” magazine is way too heavy on the pink…the title, the DS Lite, the
makeup job. And really, a “Cooking Mama 2” article? A little stereotypical. Granted we are literally judging the magazine by its cover, and get that it’s aimed at the tween set. But let’s hope that if and when Girl Gamer hits US shores, it will be a little… grittier. For our UK brethren, the next issue of Girl Gamer, which is free by the way, will be available in March.

The Console Wars Veteran I gaming medal
Posted by Lolita Beckwith Categories: Accessories, Culture, Nintendo,
Only a hardcore gamer knows the unique sense of accomplishment felt after reaching “100% completion” on a video game. But when you brag about it, you’re likely to get the response “So whaddya want, a medal?” Well, now you can actually have your own gaming medal, courtesy of Supermandolini. The limited edition Console Wars Veteran I medal honors “the memories of endless epic battles, infinite high scores and numerous blistered fingers.” The metal badge features a retro NES controller, but we’re hoping other consoles will get the medal treatment soon, as we’d love a SNES version. Available for approx. $27 USD.

Geek Jewelry: The “Space Invaders” Rings
Posted by Lolita Beckwith Categories: Accessories, Culture, Retro,
Call us paranoid, but we’re beginning to wonder if the aliens in “Space Invaders” really are trying to take over the world: The tote bag. The baby’s mobile. The scarf. The doormat. And now… the rings! Yes, now you can show your love for the classic game 24/7 by wearing one of those pesky aliens (or elusive spaceship) on your finger. Choose one of four designs, each made of pure silver with Rhodium plating. Strangely, we couldn’t find price info on the manufacturer’s website, so you may have to contact them yourself for details.
