We know that just about everyone reading Gear Live loves the Internet - either that, or they happened upon us by typoing their true destination, Dear Love. However, if you are one of those who has enjoyed the Internet for what it is, and don’t want to see it take an immense step back here in the USA, you have five days to let congress know that. Luckily, Save The Internet makes it super easy to do - all you do is fill out a form, and they make sure it gets to where it needs to go. This is crunch time in the battle for Net Neutrality.

Net Neutrality is essential to free speech, equal opportunity and economic innovation in America. Since the FCC removed this basic protection in 2005, the top executives of phone and cable companies have stated their intention to become the Internet’s gatekeepers and to discriminate against Web sites that don’t pay their added tolls.

This fundamental change would end the open Internet as we know it. It would damage my ability to connect with others, share information and participate in our 21st century democracy and economy. The FCC must ensure that broadband providers do not block, interfere with or discriminate against any lawful Internet traffic based on its ownership, source or destination.

Our Parallels video walkthrough was published on our video show, The Bleeding Edge. We have made the Parallels episode available for your viewing after the jump. You can find the show in iTunes in both high resolution format (suitable for Apple TV) and a smaller iPod format. Go ahead and check out either link, which will take you right to the iTunes pages for the respective format, and if you would be so kind, go ahead and subscribe.

We will run the contest through Sunday, and then randomly choose a winner based on the number of entries we receive. You must live in the USA or Canada to be eligible for the prize.

Parallels 3.0 GiveawayIt’s been a while since we have given away something to you guys, the readers that keep us in business. We have seen a lot of excitement around the Parallels 3.0 feature walkthrough video that we posted the other day. A few people emailed in saying that $79.99 was a bit too rich for their blood for , although we feel that it is a tremendous value, even at that price. Others have balked at paying $50 to upgrade their software from 2.0. We say forget all that, and instead, just participate in our contest where you can get a new copy of Parallels 3.0 for free. PS3So Sony has had its struggles with its PS3 console, including sluggish sales, the demise of the 20GB version, the “Father of Playstation” stepping down and the surprise domination of the Nintendo Wii. But, PS3 owners need not worry, according to Sony President Jack Tretton, who claims “We didn’t get into PS3 for the first six months of 2007—we’re into this for the next 10 years and beyond.” Despite its expensive-but-worth-it price tag, the 60GB PS3 is built for the long haul, with its intense graphics and sound, high-tech specs and Blu-ray capability (if Blu-ray takes off). With highly anticipated titles such as “Madden” and “Grand Theft Auto IV” looming, it will be interesting to see if the PS3 can catch up to the lower-priced, family-friendly Wii in both sales and “coolness factor”.
