Technics EAH-T700 headphones have jaw-dropping sound
As many folks know, we're big fans of headphones here at Gear Live. We live in a portable world, with portable entertainment available at our fingertips, and we wanna make sure we have great sound when we are on the go. At CES 2016, Panasonic's Technics brand showcased a pair of headphones that may have been the best I've ever heard - the Technics EAH-T700.
Yes, that's a fairly unassuming name for a pair of amazing headphones. Seriously though, these are forged from wrought aluminum, with two drivers on each side - one that's 50mm in size, alongside a 14mm super tweeter. These things are all about the sound, too, so even just looking at the gunmetal-colored cans wouldn't really make anyone do a double-take. Once you hear them, though, your jaw almost drops. Finding the perfect fit is easy, too, since you can adjust the size on both a horizontal and vertical basis, allowing even distribution of the 470 gram weight. The strap and the ear cups are both padded for comfort as well.
When I showed these off during a Periscope live streaming session during CES, many viewers were asking about the price, which I didn't have at the time. I was able to get it, though, and the Technics T700 headphones aren't cheap, entry-level, or for the faint of heart--they'll cost you $1,200 when the hey go on sale next month.
