Combining art with food is the main function of the Evil Mad Scientists Laboratories, as near as we can tell. They have created a machine that makes three dimensional printed layers of sugar. Any unused material can be recycled for the next go round. They estimate the cost of their Candyfab 4000 to be only around $500.00. Note their latest outcome: the sugar Soliton, based on a sculpture by Bathsheba Grossman. If you are lucky enough to be around the San Mateo Fairgrounds this weekend, the EMSL will be appearing with their gadget at the Maker Faire. Maybe they will provide free samples of their sweet stuff.
