Open The Mac mini Without A Putty Knife
When most people attempt to upgrade their Mac mini unit themselves (so as to not pay an overpriced Apple tech), a putty knife is used to open up the little bugger. However, if not careful the case will not look the same afterwards – leaving a gap and possible scratches on the otherwise beautiful case. Never fear - there’s an alternative to get that little sucker open. By taking a six inch network cable and separating each of the wires, you may open Apple’s miniature computer with ease without damaging the case. Simply take each of the wires and loop them around each of the tabs that secure the case to pop open the top shell. MacMiniHacks.org has the full instructions complete with pictures. Hack away!
