Verizon Wireless is set to unveil a half-dozen 4G LTE smartphones at next week's Consumer Electronics Show. Will the first device it shows off be the HTC Thunderbolt?

Droid Life on Tuesday posted photos of the HTC Thunderbolt, which it says will be Verizon's first 4G LTE device. The site didn't have any details on specs except to note that it looks a lot like the Desire HD. The device features a kickstand and Google branding.

Verizon said it has no comment.

In early October, Verizon announced that it will launch its 4G LTE network in 38 U.S. cities by the end of the year and will debut a half-dozen LTE smartphones and tablets at CES. The initial 38 cities will include Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Dallas, Boston, and San Francisco, McAdam said. LTE will also be available in 62 airports. The upcoming phones and tablets will come from "the top OEMs around the world," Verizon president Lowell McAdam said at the time.

Last week, Verizon informally announced that it will launch a Motorola phone for its 4G network. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Verizon chief operating officer John Stratton said, "We've got LTE smartphones on the horizon...Motorola will be right there."
