At the Seattle GDGT event, we stopped to chat with Niko Golfar from V-Moda to get the scoop on the first pair of over-ear headphones that the company has ever put out. Obviously looking to compete with the likes of Monster Cable and their line, the Crossfade LP headphones have a few nice features in the durability department that definitely set these apart, what with the memory metal construction and all that. The V-Moda Crossfade LP sells for $249, and are available now from Amazon.

We visit the Monster Costume offices to get a look at their awesome new iPad app, Bartleby’s Book of Buttons Vol. 1: The Far Away Land. Aimed at children and parents, Bartleby is a new take on what a book can be when you have the power of the iPad and its multitouch screen at your disposal. Rather than focusing on pages, the book focuses on interaction with the story, character, and elements.

We also chat about the potential future of interactive books in general, and where Monster Costume sees that they can take their publishing platform in the future.

The crew from GDGT rolled into town a couple of days ago, and our pals from were there to show off their upcoming Sonos Controller for iPad remote control app. We talk with Sonos rep Thomas Meyer about what makes their iPad app special and unique, and show the differences between it and the smaller Sonos Controller for iPhone. We definitely can’t wait to see this one hit the App Store, which they say will happen before the end of the year.

To use the Sonos Controller for iPad, you’ll need at least one Sonos zone. We love the product, and if you wanna get started enjoying the world of Sonos, might we recommend the Sonos S5?

When the launched, there was a rush and quick shortage of the iPhone 4 . When Apple announced the cases, there were five colors announced (black, white, orange, blue, green, and pink,) but when the device launched, only the black case was available. The other colors are still super-hard to find, and currently have a three-week wait time when ordering them from the Apple Store. We were able to get our hands on the orange Bumper Case, and give you a quick video showing it off. Oh, and yes, we put it on backwards.

You can pick up an iPhone 4 Bumper Case from Apple for $29.

Ever since we heard the news of Square and how they were aiming to change the face of credit card processing and transactions, we’d been excited to try it out. Square wants to give everyone the ability to accept credit cards as payment, making it simple to do with your mobile smartphone device. We had a few friends over to watch UFC 114, and since we all decided we would split the cost of the event, it seemed like as good a time as any to bust out the Square card reader and give it a try for the first time. We captured it all on video, and as you will see, using the Square reader and app was anything but simple. We are gonna chalk this one up to being a defective unit, although multiple customer service requests to Square have gone unanswered. We will let you know what happens if we ever get a replacement card reader dongle. In the meantime, enjoy the mayhem!
