Sony has released its new BRAVIA V4000 Series LCD TVs with a contrast ratio of 33000:1. The screens come in 40, 46, and 52-inches, with other sizes expected down the road. Each one features 1080p HD, its ENGINE 2 for detail, a DVB-C/DVB-T tuner, and a 24p True Cinema mode for making those Blu-ray discs look as spiffy as possible by eliminating the conversion of theatrical format to conventional TV. Are you the type that can never resist a grab bag? That’s the idea behind the SomethingStore, created after an inspiration by sites such as Woot. For $10.00 (free shipping,) they will send you a random gift. What they choose could be a video game, retail gift card, software, designer jeans, a kitchen appliance, or gourmet chocolates. While it may be refurbished, the site promises that it will also be legal. If you are tempted, you are not alone. The SometingStore claims over 10,000 somethings have already been ordered.

Latest Gear Live Videos
While this is referred to as the Lovely Little Yellow Bear Spycam, we know in our hearts it is a faux Pooh. The 350K-pixel webcam is 3.86 x 4.65 x 6.89-inches and weighs 7.05 oz., and plugs into your USB port. We don’t know many spies that wouldn’t note the cord coming out of its backside. It carries a price of $12.01. Buy at least 3 and save a couple of dollars. That way you can put the money towards an Eeyore microphone.

Dad’s Day is just around the corner, so consider Griller’s 6-in-1 Multi-Tool. The gadget has an electronic timer with alarm, a digital clock, a knife, a bottle opener, an LED to test the doneness and, get this, a built-in whistle for calling everyone to the table if they cannot smell the charred beast themselves. The Grill TEK runs on 3 included button cell batteries and clips to a belt or lanyard (also included.) At a price of $19.95, it might at least hint around that having someone else tend the cooking is a good thing.

A quick and simple way to set up fast Time Machine backups on your Mac Pro, or more storage for all those Bleeding Edge episodes you’ve been downloading, is to add in more hard drives. Thankfully, Apple has made the upgrade path to accomplishing this super simple. In this episode, we show you the step-by-step process that is takes to install a new hard drive in your Mac Pro in under 5 minutes. All you need is a Mac Pro, a Philips screwdriver, and a SATA hard drive. Oh, and of course a few minutes of spare time. It really is that easy. Hit up the video for the proof, and let us know what you think.
A big thank you goes out to HP for sponsoring this episode.
