Even if you are not shopping, their site is a minor riot and we suggest you go play on it for awhile.

Fill the reservoir and it will check the soil every half hour with a moisture probe and store the information in its memory. It will then water it when the need arises. The device holds a 10-inch pot and needs 3 D batteries (not included.) You can use the Smart Planter indoors or out, with free-standing or hanging plants, and there is a guarantee not to overwater. Oriens Glider

It is very kewl to come up with an energy-efficient vehicle like the Hy-Bird, but even better to design one that is recyclable. Roland Cernat’s Oriens Glider combines “an ecological energy concept and sustainable materials, with an organic design language and bionic inspired details.”

Translated, this means a frame of a lightweight flax bio-compound and a body of polycarbonate. The wings have photovoltaic cells and its electric motor has a propeller that retracts when gliding. A fuel engine and generator make the plane a hybrid. Cernat’s prototype was so impressive it recently won the Lucky Strike Junior Designer Competition.

Dell/Wal-mart logosIt would appear that Dell is teaming with Wallyworld to create Solution Station, a service to help the electronically challenged. Help is offered for setting up PCs, TVs, wireless networks, entertainment centers, etc. Wal-mart plans to offer their service in the Dallas area in about 15 stores this month. Don’t try to pull a fast one on them as they only deal with “Dell and other branded systems.” Think of it as a bargain basement Geek Squad.

iPhone 3G tether

With the launch of , many have been waiting and hoping for a method that would allow tethering of the iPhone to a mobile computer like, say, a MacBook. Well, lucky for your mobile warriors, that time has finally come - it’s just takes a bit of work to get it functioning. Do remember, though, that AT&T isn’t offering any sort of tethering plan with the iPhone, so if you get caught, you may be forced to pay a bunch of money out of pocket. Or your service could be shut off. Still, if that isn’t something that matters to you, then click on through for the instructions, provided by my pal Nate True. He took a bunch of different pieces of software and solutions, and mixed them together into a powerful concoction that allows you to use your iPhone 3G as a modem by way of 3Proxy, Terminal, and WiFi. Now all we need are batteries for the iPhone 3G that don’t die in a matter of seconds.

We were checking out the new Xbox 360 Experience Dashboard, when who should walk in but Reggie Fils-Aimé, CEO of Nintendo of America? Gear Live caught him earlier at the Nintendo E3 Media Briefing, and we managed to capture a few quick shots of Reggie checking out what’s new in Xbox.

Best part of the whole thing was how the Microsoft peeps were rushing to get photos of him and were almost bending over backwards to cater to him. They even asked if he would make an Xbox Avatar of himself, but as you hear in the video, he declines because he “has to scoot.”

Here's how to get the show:

Dark Knight Launcher

We had to pay homage to “The Dark Knight” release today and thought that the Grappling Launcher seemed appropriate. The 12-inch prop replica is 6 x 7 x 12-inches and is hand-painted on cold-cast porcelain. Mounted on a display base, the Limited Edition of 1500 included a Certificate of Authenticity and comes in its own fancy box for £89.99 (~$180.00) with free delivery. We suspect that anything coming out of this movie will be a decent collector’s item and worth the expense.
