Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Misc. Tech, Music, Portable Audio / Video,
We love our iPod, but cannot find a decent pair of earbuds that are comfortable, functional, and affordable. Now that many companies are creating speakers, they are finally being priced less. The Korean company Neoneco has launched its Swing Speaker. For use with 3 different iPods, the battery powered add-on will run for about 10 hours. Choose between styles for nano ($29.00,) classic ($32.00,) and touch ($36.00.)

Coming in second was penicillin with a vote of 19.6%, while the TV remote captured 10.2%. On the other side of the survey, 40.8% of the voters said that reality TV was the worst thing to come out, followed by loud TV ads at 15.6% and Crocs (the shoes, we presume) with a vote of 15.3%. Jack Tretton hits the stage after a montage of upcoming games for PS3, PS2, and PSP. He starts joking around and giving a brief history of the Shrine Auditorium. Playstation brand was seeded 15 years ago this week, where Sony decided to create it’s own videogame console. He talks about the long-term 10 year strategies employed into the Playstation and Playstation 2. Says there were marquee games for those titles, but they came out years after teh console debut. Same for the Playstation 3. He gives some props to PS3 as well, talking about Blu-ray and the Cell processor.

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Cameras, Corporate News, HDTV, Misc. Tech,
Next time you head to Japan, you may just see evidence of Big Brother. NEC has been working on a plasma display screen that houses a camera. It can identify a person’s age and sex for specific ads. Since we think this is a little too much information for us, we would rather do our shopping in the privacy of our own computer. Yeah, like that’s safe.

If you are fortunate enough to be able to take a vacation, Grillo may be a fine way to travel if you are the camping type. The concept vehicle has luggage racks, a cool space under the seat for keeping food fresh, and an electric system for connecting your MP3 player. The trike offers more stability than two wheels and the best part is the the back of the vehicle can be folded down and used as a table or tent support. We figure this would be quite useful for someone who spends longer than they would like to be among the first to get an iPhone.

Budding game creators, your time has come. Microsoft has decided to use Xbox 360 users to make new games. The company says that it will begin selling them later this year on its Xbox Live service for $2.50, $5.00, and $10.00 using MS points. Games are created under its XNA initiative. In order to become a future game star you will have to buy a $99.00 premium membership to the XNA Creators Club, but we figure that’s a small price to pay when those big bucks start rolling in.
