Over at Unboxing, we just did a video showing the unboxing of a Belkin N1 networking set. The set includes the N1 802.11n-draft router along with N1 Wireless Notebook card. We were impressed with the way Belkin packaged the internals, so figured we would put the video up here as well. Enjoy - and head on over to Unboxing for more photos, videos, and the like.

RED MOTORAZRLike Sprint had done in October, Alltel today announced that it is offering MOTORAZRs just in time for the holidays. The sleek Motorola phones feature a 2.2-inch 262k TFT main color display, a 1.3 megapixel digital camera with 4x digital zoom and video capture, Bluetooth capabilities, stereo headset support via EMU, an integrated music player, and up to 1GB RAM.

Purchase a silver MOTORAZR for $49.99 online and get one free. That same offer applies if you select the fire RED version for $69.99 and a portion of the proceeds go to the RED Campaign in Africa. Since this is the season for giving, we suggest you shell out the extra $20.00 for women and children who would find almost a month’s worth of HIV meds to be a welcome Christmas present.

Aristo botThe Washington University Aristo bot can wirelessly navigate through a fire, clone itself by creating a ring of software around that fire, then send the information through a PDA to let its owner know exactly where and how intense the fire is. If the fire intensifies, the agent clones again and maintains the ring.

Creators Burchan Bayazit and Nuzhet Atay claim that the robot can be used for other applications such as farmers gathering soil data over hundreds of acres of land without ever leaving home. At the rate that technology is speeding up these days, the Aristo will be able to clone a few cows while it is checking out the acreage. Check out the demo to see Aristo in action.

Zune

In twelve days, Microsoft launches their Zune portable media player and music service. Seems like as good a time as any to launch the official website for the platform as well, which is exactly what the company has done over at zune.net.

As a refresher, the Zune features 30 GB of storage space and will hit retail at $249 USD. If there is any device out there that can attempt to give the iPod somewhat of a run for it’s money, it’s the Zune. Do we think it will happen? No - we don’t. However, with the marketing budget that Microsoft is going to throw at this thing, who knows what will happen this holiday season?

U-Robo

We found this U-Robo from the Korean company ED that wants to join in on our ever-growing bot family. The ED-7270 comes with software to program movements, actions and paths. He features a 1GHz IP processor, Ethernet, 512 MB RAM, WiFi, an RFID reader and a RS-232 serial port. Sporting a 6.4-inch touchscreen, U-Robo has voice recognition, can stand temperatures from about -55 to +150º C, and can balance himself on a 15-degree slope. There is no price or availability as yet, but we got him pegged for that first nasty snowfall of the season.
