If you love your dog, you probably spend some of your Thanksgiving watching the National Dog Show (a pointer won it this year.) The sponsors of the event, Purina, have made an e-card site to send greeting to all your friends this holiday season. Head over to Critter Carols, upload your pet’s face (this is Amazing Grace,) add text and music and let everyone know just how weird you get during the last couple of weeks. By the way, this app will take you longer than most to get it right, so expect a learning curve.

Track Space Toolbag by Satellite

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Internet, Science, Transportation,
People who are into space track asteroids, comet paths, and other astral bodies, but now a site is tracking a tool bag that was literally lost in space. Astronaut Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper said the bag got away when she was trying to clean up some grease Tuesday during a spacewalk. NASA puts the price of the bag at $100,00.00. If you would like to catch a glimpse of it check the link below. Supposedly you do not need a telescope to catch the orbiting bag.

When you purchase something online and see a space for a coupon code, don’t you wonder if there is really one out there? We searched around and found lots of sites to find these codes and printable coupons.
If you like giving restaurant gift cards, Restaurant.com offers $25.00 certificates for only $10.00, with minimal stipulations. We could go on but you could probably find them as easily with a simple search of “coupon code” with the name of the store or manufacturer you are interested in.

GoodSearch Assists Nonprofits

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Apple, Hot Deals, Internet, Misc. Tech,
Yahoo and GoodShop have teamed to create GoodSearch, which allows you to donate money to over 70,000 nonprofits when you shop online. About 800 retailers such as Best Buy, Target and Apple are participating. Simply purchase through Goodshop and up to 37% of the purchase price goes to the user’s favorite cause. Prices are the same as on the partner’s site and there are often coupons and discounts added. Use the Goodsearch engine alone and about a penny goes to the cause as well.

Sony Adds 100,00 More Users To The Home Beta

Sony has been trying to play catch up with Xbox Live ever since its inception, and they think they have the answer. The upcoming release of Home is Sony’s attempt to bring a “Live” community to the PS3, but using their own style. The Beta has been out for some time and it seems Sony wants it to be perfect before launching. Today, they have added another 100,000 Beta testers to their program to allow them to enjoy Home, which allows Sony to iron out the bugs. In case you have not been aware, Home is much like Second Life, but with game rooms, trophies and “Homes” for each of its players, where you can interact with one another. It’s nice to see Sony trying to take the initiative and attempt something new for online communities, and the free price point makes it a nice alternative. We’ll still have to wait and see if Home is all Sony claims it can be.
Once again, we are amazed at the apparent idiocy of people who are too casual when on the Internet. Tom Stones, a Tesco store worker in the UK, called in sick, but later posted on Facebook. He now faces disciplinary action. Last month, 13 Virgin Atlantic crew members used the same means to trash their employer and were consequently fired. Australian Kyle Doyle called in sick after a night out. His managers found him updating his Facebook page. Thank goodness that those of us who work/play on the Net a gazillion hours a day know that it’s part of the gig. If that’s not you, save the Facebook updates when that you
can get away with it
are legally off the clock.
