They say that they have made money both from new sales and refurbished products. Undoubtedly much of the 650,000 following is attributed to Twitter-exclusive offers, Dell Outlet deals and Outlet-specific updates because before that time, they only had a mere 11,000 subscribers.

DictionariesGlobal Language Monitor (GLM) claims that the millionth English word (term) is “Web 2.0.” The organization seeks out new words and phrases on social networking sites and officially recognizes it after it is used 25,000 times. It beat out “Jai ho,” “N00b” and “slumdog.” While traditional dictionary publishers may not approve their methods, GLM, based in Texas, nonetheless plugs on with that mission as well as advising businesses on how often they are mentioned on the Internet.

Opera MobileOpera Mobile 9.7 beta is now available for Windows Mobile-based phones. New to the version is faster downloading, compression technology to speed up data transfer and its upgraded Presto 2.2 browser that they say is up to 25% faster. With the add-on Widgets manager and Opera Widgets SDK, favorites can be added with a click, in addition to pre-installed Twitter, Google Translate and other widgets. You can download Mobile 9.7 on the Norway based site.

Travel and accommodations are also provided, as is a bedpan, because you cannot leave your bed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The project, referred to as Pillownaut, is meant to study the effects of micro-gravity.

HomeIn an effort to up their reputation, YouTube is planning to premiere the movie “Home” on their site today, the same time as its theatrical release. Directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, the film concerns the impact that humans have on the environment and ecosystems and asks them to change their evil ways. Distributed by EuropaCorp as non-profit, it shows footage from locations worldwide. While this is not the first time for a premiere as the site aired the drama “The Princess of Nebraska” last year, it was not set for theatrical release.

INQ1INQ Mobile, a subsidiary of Hong Kong’s Hutchison Whampoa, previously made the INQ1 Skype phone (shown) and has sold about 700,000 of them since 2007. In addition to releasing a new one for the holiday season, they will also be producing a cell phone specifically designed for Twitter. Budding filmmakers, there is a new site for you to put up your stuff, the Hyde Tube. Submit live action, animation, 3D and mixed media of no more than 3 minutes under a pseudonym. Their jury will screen to make the final selections. After the process, if an agent or record company likes your stuff, they will contact you. Make the cut and join the best shorts to be shown at screenings in Paris, London and New York with awards to be given out. We have to admit, though, you are going to have some competition.
