American Idol’s and Crystal Bowersox, the winner and runner-up of Season 9 respectively, have both signed record deals with 19 Recordings. Lee has signed with 19 and RCA Records; Bowersox with 19 and Jive Records.

According to reports, following the Wednesday Idol finale, despite the fact that she broke up with her boyfriend the day before. She told reporters she has “no complaints” with the course of the competition, even though she didn’t win. “Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy,” she said of Lee’s big win.

Willie Nelson cuts off beard

This could be the biggest separation in country music since Brooks parted ways with Dunn.

Over the weekend, musician did what the hadn’t done in over thirty years - perform without his signature braid. The “Always On My Mind” singer sported the new look - as seen in this AP photo - during a gig in Maui.

Although no explanation was given for the change, Nelson’s rep said the snip happened within the past few weeks.

Maybe Nelson could donate the braid to BP Global should the company move on to Plan Z?

If you were shocked to see Bret Michaels back up and performing on the American Idol finale, you weren’t the only one. According to the Poison frontman, his physicians were also kept out of the loop.

“The doctors, I didn’t tell them I was going to do this,” Michaels admitted to Us Weekly. “I never told them I was coming here. They’re going to find out in a few minutes!”

Gorillaz-Glastonbury may be down a U2 performance, but its picked up some Gorillaz. The music festival has recruited the group to help fill the hole left behind due to Bono’s emergency surgery.

-YouTube star Greyson Chance didn’t sign with Interscope Records after all. He’ll now be working with eleveneleven, a record label American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres created just to sign him.

-Behind the Music will return to VH1 next month. A DMX special will kick it off on June 7. A Christina Aguilera hour will follow on June 13.

-World Trade Center‘s Andrea Berloff is in the middle of penning Straight Outta Compton, a biopic about rap group N.W.A. Ice Cube is one of the project’s producers.

Concert promoter is having a very bad week.

First, Christina Aguilera announces she’ll be postponing her tour until sometime 2011. Now, U2 is delaying their gigs as well.

The official announcement comes just days after learning that Bono had emergency surgery on his back in Munich, Germany. Although it had already been announced that the band’s stop in Salt Lake City would be rescheduled, the remaining cities in the group’s North American leg will now have to wait as well.

said she’s been doing things that she “normally won’t do” - and this might apply.

Although the singer was set to begin a 20-city tour on July 15, Aguilera has decided to postpone those stops until sometime next year.

While most have been blamed lukewarm response to her single “Not Myself Tonight” for the delay (the song currently stands at #89 on the iTunes chart), claims the singer is simply too busy.

“[Aguilera] felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date, this wasn’t possible,” the concert promoter said in a statement.
