Mumford and Sons

Mumford and Sons have unveiled a new track, "Learn Me Right." The folk-rock group collaborated with vocalist Birdy - who sings lead on the song - which is included on the soundtrack to new animated film Brave.

"It's quite fun doing a song for a movie rather than for an album. We liked the idea of having an orchestra in the background and having a girl like Birdy sing - it's been quite liberating," frontman Marcus Mumford said.

Whitney HoustonWhitney Houston's final recording will be released on June 5.

The late pop legend's last ever song, "Celebrate," is a duet with American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, and included in the movie Sparkle - the last thing Whitney worked on before her death in February. The track was produced by "I Believe I Can Fly" hitmaker R. Kelly and premiered on the radio yesterday.

The song features lyrics such as, "I'm going to celebrate, celebrate you," and Jordin chimes in, "We love you Whitney" at the end of the song. Whitney plays the "No Air" hitmaker's mother in Sparkle, a remake of a 1976 film about the pressures of fame in the Motown era. The film is Whitney's first foray into acting since roles in The Bodyguard and The Preacher's Wife over fifteen years ago. Sparkle will be in theaters starting August 17.

Jordin, 22, sung a moving rendition of Whitney's biggest hit "I Will Always Love You" in tribute to her at the Billboard Icon Awards awards on Sunday.

Lady GagaLady Gaga has vowed to perform "alone" if she has to in Jakarta.

The "Judas" hitmaker's Indonesian show - set to be the biggest in her Born This Way Ball tour's Asian leg - is in jeopardy after protests from hard line religious groups led police to refuse a license for it to go ahead, but she has not given up hope of staging a show in the nation.

"The Jakarta situation is 2-fold: Indonesian authorities demand I censor the show & religious extremist separately, are threatening violence. If the show does go on as scheduled, I will perform the BTWBall alone (sic)" she wrote on her Twitter.

Islamic groups have protested against Gaga's sexualized image, provocative dance moves and allegations she could undermine the country's moral fiber. However, fans who have tickets for the show at the 52,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno stadium on Sunday were given hope when a key religious group, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), said it was re-examining its opposition to the concert today after police said they would issue a license if Gaga can get backing from MUI and the Religious Affairs Ministry.

SoundgardenSoundgarden never intended to reunite.

The group recently got back together after splitting 16 years ago and frontman Chris Cornell admits the reunion only came about when they held meetings to discuss ways of reconnecting with their fans online.

"The idea originally wasn't to restart the band. We got back into a room just to think about ideas of reconnecting with our fans, like starting a website again and starting the fan club again. But after the first five minutes of seeing if anyone had changed or gone weird had passed, it felt really comfortable," Chris said.

The 47-year-old rocker also insisted the group haven't reunited for financial reasons and says they are looking forward to making music in their own way: "We're back for the right reasons. No one is trying to go for the quick money. Now we don't have to try to be like anyone. We are who we are and we do what we want."

Soundgarden play the Download festival on June 10 and Hard Rock Calling on July 13.

Robin GibbRobin Gibb has died. The Bee Gees singer has passed away after a battle with cancer aged 62. His family, including wife, Dwina, brother, Barry, daughter Melissa, 37, and sons Spencer, 39, and Robin-John, 29, had been keeping a vigil at his bedside at a hospital in London in recent weeks.

"The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time," said a statement released by relatives.

Robin had surgery on his bowel last year for an unrelated condition, but a tumor was discovered and he was diagnosed with cancer of the colon and then liver. He was recently thought to be in remission, but his condition worsened when he was diagnosed with pneumonia last month.

In February Robin told how he felt "fantastic" and had made spectacular progress in his cancer battle, and even returned to the stage, receiving a standing ovation when he appeared at a London Palladium charity concert supporting injured servicemen and women with The Soldiers, performing Bee Gees tracks "How Deep Is Your Love" and "I've Gotta Get A Message To You."

Boy GeorgeBoy George thinks all today's pop records sound the same.

The "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" singer thinks today's crop of pop stars are more interested in personal gain than making a difference to the world, and most of their records are boring as a result.

"Pop, I think, just goes in waves, and I think technology kind of makes everyone make the same record. I think the problem at the moment, and has been for a while, is that everybody wants to make loads of money, because that seems to be the most important thing. They all want the fur coat, nobody wants to change the world - and that's the problem. Technology is a great thing because it's opened up the doors for people, but when you hear things it's just, 'It's the new this, it's the new version of that' and it's just like, 'Yawn,'" he told BANG Showbiz, speaking at the Ivor Novello awards.

SlashSlash is "very proud" of his time in Guns N' Roses.

Despite having success with Velvet Revolver and as a solo artist, the guitarist admits nothing quite compares to when his first band hit the big time in 1987 with their debut album Appetite For Destruction.

"I'm very proud of what we did in that band, but it's nice to be recognized for something you've got going on right now," he said.

The 46-year-old musician includes songs from his time in both Velvet Revolver and Guns N' Roses in his solo sets and he enjoys the freedom he now he isn't in a group: "I'm not a dictator, there are no egos - everybody has great ideas for the songs. Every band I've ever been in I tried to make it always just about the music, never about who was the star."

Slash famously fell out with Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose in the 90s, and he, along with the other original members, left the hard rock group. Axl refused to attend the classic line-up's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year insisting he felt disrespected by the organization.

Rob ZombieRob Zombie thinks the Grammy awards are "pathetic."

The veteran heavy metal singer doesn't like what the awards show, because he doesn't feel the performers put in as much energy as real rock bands do.

"Rock bands can deliver it live, whereas a lot of pop act - you watch the Grammys and it's pathetic sometimes. You know, 60-year-old Bruce Springsteen comes out and he rocks and whatever pop star of the moment comes out and lip-synchs through some pathetic performance and you're like, 'Really? Is this what it's come down to?'" he told The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Rob - has been nominated three times as a solo artist for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance - thinks heavy music has been pushed aside in recent years, but is excited to be making a new album now, as it is ready to make a comeback.

AdeleAdele is too afraid to headline Glastonbury festival.

The "Someone Like You" singer has been hotly tipped to appear at the event in 2013, but organizer Michael Eavis says he can't convince her because she gets daunted by the number of people who attend the event, held in Somerset, Southern England.

"Adele knows that we want her anyway, but she doesn't want to do anything outside. She comes every year usually and has her own little party, but going on the pyramid stage is a bit daunting, playing in front on 80,000 people, it's a bit much," said Michael Eavis, speaking at the Ivor Novello awards.

Glastonbury is taking a year off to let its fields lie fallow, but when it returns next year, Michael said he's likely to invite Ed Sheeran - who has already performed at the festival a few times and took home Best Song Musically and Lyrically at the awards show - back.
