Marie Osmond Cancels More Vegas Shows

Despite her best efforts to keep the show going, Marie Osmond has opted to take another much-needed break.

It was announced today that Donny and Marie’s show in Vegas will be canceled until March 23. This decision comes approximately a week after the two resumed their Flamingo act and almost three weeks after Marie’s 18-year-old son, Michael Blosil, committed suicide.

During their March 9 return performance, Marie spoke to the audience about Brian. “The way Osmonds survive is we keep singing. That’s what we want to do tonight. I know my son would want that and this show is for him,” she said.

Unfortunately, the grieving mother decided she needed to spend more time with family. “She’s still processing everything and it’s really rough on her,” rep Alan Nierob explained.

Las Vegas performers Donny and Marie Osmond have elected to resume their show less than two weeks after a family tragedy.

On Friday, February 26, Marie’s 18-year old son jumped to his death from his apartment building in Los Angeles. Michael Blosil, one of Marie’s eight children, cited depression as his reason in a suicide note.

Since that time, the entertainers’ program at the Flamingo hotel has been on hold. But the popular show will start again on Tuesday, one day after Brian is laid to rest in Utah.

To help make up for the missed performances, the brother-sister team has added five more dates between April 13-17.
