Kelly Clarkson Inspired by Muse
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Alternative, Pop,
Kelly Clarkson says she has started work on a new LP and is promising a dramatically different direction to her previous efforts.
“We’re already working on it but it’s probably not going to hit until, like, the fourth quarter of next year - around Christmas next year,” she said. “There’s still some like singer/songwriter stuff on the album, but there’s… I don’t know. It’s almost like Garbage-meets-pop-meets-Muse. It’s a little different.”
However, Kelly also said that she is still in the early stages of the recording process. “I don’t know how it’s going to end up. Who knows?” she said. “It always ends up being something completely different,” the singer added to Q100 radio.
In between working on her own album, Kelly is also attempting to pen tracks for other musicians. “So we’ve been writing for other artists but then I end up liking it so much that I can’t give them away,” Clarkson admitted.

Wyclef Jean Hopeful About Fugees Reunion

Wyclef Jean wants to reform The Fugees.
The rapper, singer and producer is currently working on his solo material and says he hopes that when former bandmates Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel hear his new EP, From the Hut to the Projects to the Mansion it will inspire them to reunite.
“Somehow The Fugees is the soundtrack to everyone’s house. What I’m hoping is that this group really gets inspired by the new movement that I’m on right now, the new music that I’ve got coming out, the movement with the youth, and I’m hoping they’ll get inspired and be like, ‘Yo, let’s find Clef and let’s get this thing cracking.’ And it would be an honor to go in and make it a super album,” Jean told DJBooth.net.

Usher’s Girlfriend Takes Charge of His Album
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Upcoming Releases, R&B / Soul,
Usher‘s new girlfriend may be causing trouble at his record label.
The “Yeah!” singer is reportedly involved in a relationship with Grace Miguel - who until recently worked for Def Jam Records, a rival to Usher’s Jive label.
“Some people see it as a conflict of interest. She’s still under contract with Def Jam, but Grace seems to be calling the shots behind the scenes on Usher’s album,” an insider told the New York Daily News newspaper.
It has been claimed the situation has “complicated” the making of the LP and is upsetting record company executives - who recently pushed Raymond v. Raymond back from its original December 21 release date.

Chris Brown Booted from Timbaland Track
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Hip-Hop & Rap, R&B / Soul,
There are many things Chris Brown should avoid doing right now, and performing on a song called “Maniac” is probably one of them.
Although the R&B artist had been scheduled to appear on Timbaland’s upcoming album, Brown was scratched from Shock Value II. The decision is reportedly due to Chris’ personal - not vocal - issues.
Sources tell TMZ that “some people” felt it was in appropriate for the singer to be associated with “Maniac.” (The song has since been retitled “The One I Love.”) But a rep for Timbaland claims Brown’s removal was simply a “creative decision for both parties.” Uh-huh...
Shock Value II and Chris Brown’s Graffiti both drop on December 8th.

VIDEO: Jennifer Lopez Takes a Fall Without Her Louboutins
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Awards, Gossip, Performances, Upcoming Releases, Videos, Pop,
She may have mastered walking in high heels, but even Jennifer Lopez can stumble while wearing rubber soles.
During tonight’s American Music Awards broadcast, the singer/actress/dancer hit the stage for a performance of
“Louboutins,” a horribly repetitive song from her upcoming album Love?.
In the number choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance‘s Tabitha and Napoleon D’umo, Jennifer taps into moves from her Fly Girl days while pretending to sing live at the same time. Although it’s been a while since we’ve seen Lopez during an awards ceremony, she clearly hasn’t forgotten how to get back up after a fall.

Liam Gallagher Feeling Confident Post-Oasis
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Rock,
Liam Gallagher says his songs with his new band are better than before. The 37-year-old singer has been working with every member of Oasis, except brother Noel who quit the group in August, on fresh material and plans to have an album out by July.
He told MTV Italy:
“We’ve been demoing some songs that we’ve had about, that we’ve had for a while. Just doing that, on the quiet, not making a big fuss about it. After Christmas we might go in the studio and record them and hopefully have an album out in July. We’ll do it in a different kind of way now. I’ll try and reconnect with a new band, new songs, and I’m feeling confident about the songs. I’m feeling a million percent confident that they could be better than Oasis.”
