Frank Ocean and Martin Gore of Depeche Mode

Frank Ocean has recorded a track with Depeche Mode's Martin Gore. The "Pyramids" singer has been in the studio with the electronic producer, as well as Christoffer Berg - half of Swedish duo The Knife - after he ran into Depeche Mode while they were recording their new album Delta Machine.

"Suddenly in the doorway, I sensed this presence, and I realized there was this guy standing there just watching. An assistant came up to me in between songs and said, 'Do you mind? Frank Ocean is here working in another studio and really wants to meet you guys.' I wouldn't have thought he would have even known who we are, but it turns out he's a big fan. Martin and Christoffer Berg ended up doing a track with him, which I think is going to be part of his new record. Martin did some electronics and some modular synthesiser stuff he really wanted," Martin's bandmate, Dave Gahan, told Entertainment Weekly.

98 Degrees

Fans of the nineties boy band 98 Degrees - which consists of Nick Lachey and his brother Drew, Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre - will be happy to know that the group will be putting together a new album. The quartet, who are set to go on tour with their nineties peers New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Men, recently appeared at Full Sail University, where Timmons opened up about getting back together with his old friends:

"We took a break, but we never broke up. We always thought we'd get back together someday. When we first got together, we started singing acapella. It felt very natural. We're all friendly. We haven't kept in touch like we should have, but when we get together, it's like old times."

Justin TimberlakeJustin Timberlake likes to "create another world" with his songs. The "Suit and Tie" singer immerses himself in his tracks while in the studio and aims to create different characters to tell the songs from their viewpoints.

"Music is for dreamers. You should be able to create another world that you can live in. I'm not gonna speak for Bob Dylan - he's one of my idols - but from my perspective as a fan, it seems to me that he started creating music that made him feel like another person and that's what it should do. [The studio] really is one place that you can still go to that you can be completely free. You can lock yourself in a room and make a whole other world."

The star added he feels his skills at creating characters for his songs have got better during his six year hiatus, when he has concentrated on his acting career:

Kanye West and Will Smith

Kanye West has recorded a duet with Will Smith. The "Stronger" rapper and the Men In Black star were both recently in Brazil for the Rio Carnival and while they were there, they went into the studio together to lay down a new track.

The pair met in the studio of DJ Batutinha - producer and close friend of singer Naldo - and decided on a "funky" tune, which pays tribute to their time in the South American country. DJ Batutinha Brazilian said, "Kanye was keen to get to learn more about the funk in Rio and a DJ friend of mine referred him to me. Will and him went to the studio to get to know the sonority of the funk better. I spoke to them about Naldo and his production, and they thought we could all work out something together and launch this new project."

Dave Grohl of the Foo FightersFoo Fighters have a new album almost ready for release. Although the rock the group are currently on hiatus, they have no plans to disband and have a collection of songs ready to record and unveil to the world.

"We've been a band for almost 20 years. When it feels like you're walking in the sand, it's time to go home. But we have pretty much an entire record ready. Once we're set, we'll make a huge stink about it," frontman Dave Grohl said.

Even the "Best of You" hitmakers have been having a break Grohl has still been busy on other projects and he admits working with Paul McCartney is one of the highlights of his career. The singer teamed up with the Beatles legend and his former Nirvana bandmates Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear on "Cut Me Some Slack" after previously recording with Paul for his documentary on California's iconic Sound City studios and he admits it was honor to make music with one of his heroes: "I remember rehearsing with him. He comes in and just wants to jam. He's willing to go off more than most younger musicians."

Thom Yorke of RadioheadRadiohead are preparing to record a new album. The "Lotus Flower" band will regroup at the end of the summer to start work on their first new tracks since 2011.

"We're taking some time out whilst people are doing some other stuff, doing their own things, and the plan is to get back together again [at the] end of the summer," bass player Colin Greenwood told BBC Radio 6 Music.

Radiohead - Colin, brother Johnny Greenwood, Thom Yorke, Phil Selway and Ed O'Brien - released their eighth album, The King Of Limbs, in 2011 and played a world tour last year. The band are currently taking a break while the individual members work on different projects.

Perhaps the band will take a more commercial direction with their next album, as Thom has previously admitted The King of Limbs divided their fanbase: "I can see why it's alienated people. I didn't realize it was on its own planet. It was amazing just to put the record out like that. But then it didn't feel like it really existed. But that was the consequence of what we chose to do. You can either get upset about it, or say, 'well, that's not good enough.'"

Queens of the Stone AgeQueens of the Stone Age "embraced" their "evil" on their new album. The band sent a cryptic handwritten note to the UK's Kerrang! magazine in which they talk about the conditions surrounding the making of their sixth studio album.

"Some things you can't fix so... On this record we came to a realization: the best trick of all, is no trick at all. The songs are a real time document of the manic ups and downs of the last year. It can't always run like clockwork. So rather than control the direction of the recordings, we decided to ride shotgun on our emotional bandwagon. We embraced our evil, held the horrible, licked the lunacy and blew the beautiful. As a result, we're on cloud 9. I can't write anymore cause my phone's dying, Queens of the Stone Age," the message read.

Justin TimberlakeJustin Timberlake's movie career helped make his music more visual.

The "Suit & Tie" singer - who returned to music after a six year hiatus while he tried his hand at acting - feels his experience on film sets has taught him how to create a more vivid picture with the songs on his new album.

"You spend so much time developing a character when you do a film. So much of your work is done before you get set to shoot because you've been working on the character: the way he walks, the way he talks, what might upset him, what might make him happy. Now I can really paint a picture for people 'cause being involved in the film process, you get to see the writing change, you get to see the direction change, you get to see all those things change. You go, 'You can really do this with music, too.' You can play a character but you can also write the world that you want your character to live in and then what does that world sound like? Are there more strings in that world? Are there more horns in that world? Is there more percussion in that world?" he told Rolling Stone.
