Robert PattinsonRobert Pattinson is writing songs to help get over his split from Kristen Stewart.

The 27-year-old actor is not planning on landing a record deal but is penning tracks in a bid to take his mind off his Twilight co-star, after they split for a second time last month. "Rob's always had half a mind on his music, but when his film career and relationship with Kristen both took off at the same time, something else had to give. He's really enjoyed picking up his guitar again properly and it has given him something to focus on during the break-up. Everyone's saying that he's really talented, but he's adamant we'll only be seeing him in films for the time being," a source close to the actor said.

The pair split for a second time after Kristen got back in touch with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, who she confessed to having an affair with last year behind Robert's back.

Placebo is back with a new album, and they're not being quiet about it.

The alternative rockers released a teaser for the title track of their upcoming seventh studio album, Loud Like Love. Though the video appears to be a little more normal than the band's usual aesthetic, the music itself sounds like they're departing from their sixth album Battle for the Sun - thankfully - and returning to the style fans recall from Meds (2006) and Sleeping with Ghosts (2003).

BeckBeck is planning to release two new albums this year.

The "Devil's Haircut" musician is working on a follow up to 2008's Modern Guilt as well as an acoustic album, according to Rolling Stone magazine. One completely new track, "Defriended" has already appeared on the internet, but it is unknown if it will appear on either album.

Beck said last year he had gone back to working on some ideas he had started in 2008: "There is music and its coming. I have this one record I started in 2008, it got put aside for a long time, but recently I've been mixing some of the songs. I'm not sure if they'll be singles, EPs or an album, but it will come out in some way and it sounds sonically adventurous."

Beck's last musical project was Song Reader which was a collection of sheet music. Fans from around the world were then encouraged to share their own interpretations and versions of the tracks.

StingSting is set to release his first new material in a decade later this year.

The "Fields of Gold" singer has recorded his first full-length album, The Last Ship, since his 2003 record Sacred Love after taking inspiration from songs he had penned for the same-titled Broadway musical, scheduled to open next year. The play is set in the 1980s in Wallsend, North East England, near where Sting - real name Gordon Sumner - grew up and the 61-year-old musician will use several songs from the show along with tracks he wrote which weren't included in the final line up.

Sting - who is currently touring North America with his Back to Bass tour - has been working hard on the LP for three years and has called upon the help of several collaborators, including James Bond writer John Logan and Brian Yorkey. The record, which will be his 11th studio album, will be released by a grouping of labels Cherrytree, Interscope and A & M Records.
