Pixie Lott was so introverted before she went to school her family worried she may never speak. “We were really worried about her when she was little,” her mother told Britain’s The Sun newspaper. “We thought something was wrong but it turned out she was just painfully shy. She didn’t really start talking until she went to school. I thank her stage school Italia Conti for drawing her out of herself.”
The “Mama Do (Uh Oh Uh Oh)” singer may have learned to deal with her nerves, but she has also had to grasp other skills since becoming famous - including dealing with unwanted admirers. The 19-year-old beauty recently had to politely decline The Wrestler actor Mickey Rourke‘s advances.

Whitney Houston unveils I Look to You video
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Music Videos, The Charts, Pop, R&B / Soul,
Whitney Houston’s GMA performance may have had its flaws (it’s all your fault, Oprah!), but she’s looking flawless here.
In this new video for “I Look to You,” the diva comes very close - very close - to making us all forget her years on Being Bobby Brown. (Though I’m secretly hoping she won’t.)
This clip arrives just after Houston’s CD of the same name hit #1 on the album charts. The last time the artist achieved that (outside of The Bodyguard soundtrack) was in 1987 with Whitney.

According to reports, Janet’s appearance will involve more than a speech. Michael Jackson‘s “Scream” partner has been working hard on a number for this weekend’s broadcast. The performance will incorporate 20 other dancers.

One of Michael Jackson‘s gloves has sold for $49,000.
The famous jewel-encrusted accessory, which the late pop icon wore during his 1996 wedding to Debbie Rowe, was bought by Las Vegas Hard Rock curator Warwick Stone at an auction in Australia.
“Michael Jackson gave it to someone in public in Australia and most collectors of Michael Jackson memorabilia knew about this glove,” Warwick said. “I’ve got the chain that used to hang around Sid Vicious’ neck, I’ve got one of Elvis’ .357 magnums which he used to shoot TVs with.”
The right-hand glove was the first of Michael’s gloves to go on sale since his June 25 death, although three more are due to go under the hammer in America this year.

Mika Inspired by Weird Teen Years
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Pop,
Mika - who is known for his outrageous outfits and wild curly hair - says his new LP, The Boy Who Knew Too Much, was inspired by his turbulent adolescence, which he now wants to forget.
“It’s still joyful pop music. I needed to liberate myself from my childhood - I was a weird, reclusive teen,” the 26-year-old said.
The “Love Today” singer’s forthcoming album, the follow-up to 2007’s Life in Cartoon Motion, even contains a vengeful “break-up” song inspired by a bitter split.
“There’s a song called ‘Rain,’ which was a break-up letter, but I thought it would be funny to put a disco beat behind it. It’s my form of revenge - I’m quite a passive aggressive person,” Lebanon-born Mika explained to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper. “A lot of artists are more protective of themselves on their second album. I don’t give a s**t how I’m perceived. Famous people are boring and only think of themselves.”
For Mika’s latest single “We Are Golden,” the eccentric pop star was asked to act like a teenager, and ended up stripping off. “The director did ‘Paparazzi’ for Lady Gaga and asked me what my 17-year-old self would be wearing. I said my underwear, and then I was there in white boxers flexing my muscles. I almost wanted to vomit,” he revealed.

Christina Aguilera’s Throwaway Lyrics
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Pop,
Christina Aguilera almost lost the lyrics to her new song.
The “Candyman” singer felt inspired to write the track while she was dining at Los Angeles’ Osteria Mozza Italian restaurant. However, she couldn’t find any paper, so decided to put the lyrics on her napkin. When Christina and her husband Jordan Bratman had finished eating, the waiter came to remove the dirty dishes and the pop star failed to notice he had also cleared the napkin away.
“Christina wasn’t looking when the busboy took the inked-up napkin. When she realized it was missing she ran after him,” a source said. Luckily, the 28-year-old blonde star caught up with the waiter before the napkin could be thrown away.

Lady Gaga was thrilled to learn two men had sex at one of her concerts.
The “Poker Face” singer says her career high point so far was during a concert in New York when the audience - which included Madonna - shed their inhibitions and made love as she sang.
“My sister texted me and she was like, ‘Madonna is 15 feet away from me. And there are two guys having sex in the audience. I just remember thinking, ‘Wow, this is exactly what I wanted. I’ve got Madonna and I’ve got gay sex!’” she said.
