Mix Tape: Bruno Mars Charged for Drug Possession, Mario Arrested for Assault

-Singer Bruno Mars has officially been charged with one count of felony drug possession. The “Billionaire” singer—who is scheduled to perform on SNL next weekend—was arrested on September 19 in Las Vegas after being found with cocaine.
-Rapper Kid Cudi recently pleaded guilty for his misdemeanor possession charge. Cudi, who was found with cocaine on June 11, has been ordered to perform two days of community service. If he stays clean for six months, the charge will be dismissed.
-Domestic violence is what Mario was arrested for on Friday morning. The “How Do I Breathe” singer was cuffed by the Baltimore Police Department after allegedly shoving his mother against a wall. The 24-year-old, who posted $50,000 bail, will appear in court on November 9.

Opening Acts Announced for U2’s 360 Tour

Florence + the Machine, a performer at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, will be one of the acts joining U2 on their 360 Tour.
Interpol, Lenny Kravitz and The Fray will also open up for the group when the North American leg (finally!) begins next summer.

And, as we’ve learned from Heidi Klum’s previous modeling photos—the woman doesn’t have a problem getting naked.
These two lessons bring us to the clip of the day: Seal’s video for his new song “Secret.”
After watching this, one can only wonder what those two have in store for Love’s Divine, their upcoming reality project together.

Although we do not know yet whether Mariah Carey is indeed pregnant, there is one thing we do know about the singer: she won’t let a minor fall keep her from making a show happen.
Over the weekend, Carey was entertaining a crowd in Singapore when the $10,000 heels she was wearing got the best of her. But being the consummate performer that she is, Mariah got herself right back up and finished singing – while simultaneously having the shoes removed from her feet.
That’s a diva who gets the job done.

Apparently men aren’t the only ones who are “Hot N Cold” in Katy Perry‘s life. Muppets are too.
In this video for Sesame Street, the soon-to-be married singer struggles to act to figure out why Elmo is being so wishy-washy with her. “You don’t really want to play ... no. You just really want to go ... go,” she sings.
Maybe Elmo really just wants to see her run around in that dress? Just sayin’…

What Lady Gaga taught me: Small shows are better shows

Obviously Lady Gaga has gained in popularity over the last 8 months or so, but even back when she was going to do the Fame Kills combo tour with Kanye West, she was seen as a legitimate draw…but then Kanye pulled out and she toured on her own, visiting smaller venues. This year she blew up, selling out arenas on her own. Having gone to both, I definitely prefer the smaller shows where everyone is up close and personal with the performer. Even more weird though, the staging and effects were twice as good at the smaller show, on the smaller stage, than they were at the larger dome show. Better effects, and an awesome 3D video backdrop (it’s hard to describe, but it was fantastic) definitely won out over what they put together for the bigger show. Go figure.

Although Eminem will be performing “Love the Way You Lie” at the Video Music Awards tomorrow, his musical partner won’t be there during the opening number.
Rihanna, who is currently filming Battleship in Hawaii, will be too busy to make the annual event. But from the sounds of it, she doesn’t really care.
“I definitely wish I could be there for Eminem. He’s performing the song we did together. It would have been nice to do it, but he understands. Obviously right now I’m doing something that is a priority to me,” she said about her acting debut. “The VMAs will be there next year. I’ll have a lot more music out by then.”
Speaking of new music, Rihanna promises her upcoming CD will take us “through a really interesting ride.” “The name of the album reflects the attitude,” Rihanna added. “It really grabs your attention.”
Loud hits stores on November 16.
