Green Day have are planing to play "3,000" shows in support of their new albums.
The "Oh Love" band are releasing three records - Uno!, Dos! and Tre! - and joked that for such an ambitious project they will have to have a suitably sized tour to match.
"The full tour, we'll probably do about 3,000 shows. Right now, we're just warming up and getting ready to go out there, start swinging. The sky is the limit right now. We're just going to keep going. We want to play a lot of small clubs, a lot of theaters, a lot of arenas, and then who knows what else," bassist Mike Dirnt told MTV News.
Fontman Billie Joe Armstrong - who completes the band up with drummer Tre Cool - also said they always keep up with new music, and let it evolve the direction of their own sound.

Green Day to Perform at MTV Video Music Awards

Green Day will perform their new single at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The band - made up of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool - will give the first televised performance of "Oh Love," from their new album trilogy, Uno!, Dos! and Tre!, at Los Angeles' Staples Center on September 7.
"We're excited to perform on this year's MTV Video Music Awards. MTV has continuously supported us during our career, and we can't think of a better place to play our first TV performance for the albums," Billie Joe said.
The band have previously said they don't know if releasing three new albums between September and January is a good idea or not. "This could possibly be the greatest idea we've ever had or it could possibly be the dumbest idea we've ever had. And that's really exciting to think about. We don't have a f**king clue what we're doing as far as the future is concerned. And it's kind of exciting to think of it that way," Billie Joe said.

The Killers’ Shaky Start to the New Album

The Killers spent a week "eyeballing each other" at the start of recording Battle Born.
The "Mr Brightside" band were on hiatus until October 2011 when they started sessions for their new album, and admit it took a little time for them to settle in to working together again. Singer Brandon Flowers said they had "spent about a week eyeballing each other in a room," before coming up with new single, "Runaways," which gave them confidence.
"That and 'Miss Atomic Bomb' were the backbone of this record. They made me feel like I was on the right track," Brandon added.
Brandon and drummer Ronnie Vannucci both released solo albums after the band went on hiatus in 2010, but respected the fact the other members, guitarist Dave Keuning and bassist Mark Stoermer, needed some time off. "We are a machine of four parts, and when some of those parts wear out, you need to give it time. We all have different temperaments for how much you can manage. You need respect. Otherwise you're a band for maybe three years and then explode," Ronnie added.

Jack White is ‘Bored’ of Writing Songs About Himself

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Alternative, Blues, Rock, New Releases,
Jack White finds it "boring" to write songs about himself.
The singer and guitarist released his first album under his own name earlier this year, and while he makes up different characters who his songs are about, he admits they are based on his own experiences.
"I always find it kind of boring to write about myself. But whatever happens to you, if you've gone through anything - sort of a literal train wreck in your life, for example - you have to have that inside of you in some way. Even if you choose not to write about being involved in a train wreck, it would come out of you no matter what choice you have. So whatever characters I was writing about during the record, I'm giving them these problems. But the problems are only things that I probably have seen or experienced sometime along the way. The funny thing is, I always think I'm writing about, you know, a couple of characters, but by the end I'm mixing the song and listening to it back and thinking, 'Oh, now I know exactly what this song is about. I'm the only one who's going to know.' It's very funny."

Drake Slams Chris Brown in New Single

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Hip-Hop & Rap, New Releases,
Drake has slammed Chris Brown in his new single "Enough Said."
The rapper's latest track features previously unheard vocals by late R&B singer Aaliyah and has angered fans who have accused him of using the song as a vehicle to diss his love rival Chris.
"Running through the city with n****s I'd give a kidney/ Selling under 150 you n****s got to be kidding/ Is this even still a discussion?/ Don't you ever wake up disgusted?" Drake raps. The line has been perceived as a dig at Chris' mediocre album sales after his latest offering Fortune sold 135,000 copies in its first week while Drake's Take Care shifted 600,000.
Fans took to Twitter in a rage after hearing the song, which has been released to honor the anniversary of Aaliyah's tragic death in a plane crash. "I love Drake but not sure reworking Aaliyah for 10 year anniversary and 'dissing' Chris Brown in it is really in the right spirit!" @Cazba21 posted. @In_Boss_U_Trust asked, "Is the Drake song with Aaliyah in it really a diss to Chris Brown cuz if so, that's disrespectful."

Snoop Dogg Reincarnated as Bob Marley?

Snoop Dogg claims he is Bob Marley reincarnated.
The hip-hop star is reinventing himself as Snoop Lion for a new reggae album, Reincarnated, and claims he always had a natural calling to the genre: "I have always said I was Bob Marley reincarnated. I feel I have always been a Rastafarian. I just didn't have my third eye open, but it's wide open right now."
Speaking about how he was enlightened during a trip to Jamaica, he added, "I didn't know that until I went to the temple, where the High Priest asked me what my name was, and I said, 'Snoop Dogg.' And he looked me in my eyes and said, 'No more. You are the light; you are the lion.'"
The "Sweat" singer said he had no plans to make the reggae album - on which he collaborates with singer M.I.A. and producer Diplo - but did so after he was called by "the spirit." Speaking in a press conference, he added, "On this particular project, I had no planning on going to Jamaica, making a reggae record. The spirit called me. And, you know, anytime the spirit calls you, you gotta know that it's serious. I basically let them know what I want. It's not that I want to become Snoop Dogg in a reggae track. I want to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion."

The Killers Had a ‘Good Feeling’ About New Single

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Upcoming Releases, Pop, Rock, New Releases,
The Killers' Brandon Flowers had a "good feeling" as soon as he heard their new single.
The rock band's frontman knew straight away "Runaways" was the perfect anthem to get fans excited about the band's new record, Battle Born, when they were writing it.
"When I heard that march that catapults the song forward, I knew there was something special about it. It definitely has a couple of 'brothers' on this record. It's a great starting point, but there are more styles as well... We've never hid our influences, and we've always been loud and proud," he said.
"Runaways" was released a week early on July 10 due to mass demand from radio stations. The track is the band's first since 2008s Day & Age, and took a year to make, working with five different producers.

Nas Wanted to Burn Kelis’ Wedding Dress

Nas wanted to set fire to ex-wife Kelis' wedding dress after they split up.
The couple separated in 2009 after a four-year marriage and the 38-year-old rapper - who has two-year-old son Knight with the "Milkshake" hitmaker - was very "hurt and angry" when he found a reminder of their big day.
"I found it in my house and thought, it's going somewhere. Either on the cover of my album, or burning in a garbage can. I was angry when I first found it. Hurt and angry - but I don't think she left it deliberately to hurt me. It's just part of the dress, so I don't know where the rest of it is. But it made all the sense in the world for me to hold on to that. I guess that's just my personality," he said, explaining why the cover of his new album Life Is Good, which depicts him alone in a club with the dress draped over his knee.

Blur unveiled two new tracks last night.
The "Song 2" band performed "Under the Westway" and "The Puritan" from a rooftop at a secret location via a live video stream, watched by fans around the world.
The band last staged a reunion show in 2009 but are back together again for a special show on August 12 in London, to mark the end of the Olympics. Bass player Alex James said the band had only started recording the tracks three weeks ago, and finished "The Puritan" last week. When asked whether there was a future for the band after the Olympic shows, Alex told BBC Radio 1, "I've got no idea what happens next, or if it ever happens again." He did, however, add, "There's never been a period where more than six months have gone by and we haven't stuck our heads in and had a bish-bash. It's just really, really good fun."
