Taylor Swift was horrified when a 40-year-old fan had her autograph tattooed on her stomach.
The 19-year-old singer initially thought the middle-aged woman was joking when she told her about the plan, and couldn’t believe it when she returned with the inking etched on her skin.
“I was signing autographs one time when this woman asked, ‘Can you sign my stomach? I’m going to get it tattooed on!’ I was like, ‘Yeah, alright. Sure.’ I signed it really big across her stomach. She came back an hour later with it tattooed on. I’m not kidding. And she was in her 40s, so old enough to know better. That’s dedication though!” Swift said.
Taylor is still adjusting to her fans pestering her for autographs, as she wasn’t always so admired when she was growing up. “I wasn’t really popular at high school. I’ve never really been sought-after by guys, but I don’t wallow in it. It’s my comfort zone, being single,” she revealed. “I feel that a lot happens to you when you’re not looking for it so I’m not actively looking for a boyfriend.”

Taylor Swift likes being famous because she can buy other people coffee.
The “Love Story” singer insists she loves sharing her good fortune with other people, and particularly loves surprising strangers with her generosity.
“Now I’m in a better position to be a bigger tipper when I’m out at a restaurant. People don’t expect it and you can make their day,” she said. “I like going through a Starbucks drive-through and paying for the person behind, just because it’s nice.”
Despite her fame, the 19-year-old singer insists she is still careful with her money and takes advice from her father on how to invest and save.
“I think it’s crazy as a star that you get free stuff when you can afford it,” Swift explained to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper. “I don’t spend a lot of money. My dad is a financial advisor and has given me a lot of advice.”
Meanwhile, Taylor insists she has forgiven Kanye West for invading the stage during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards. “I’ve forgiven him as I don’t want to start anything. I’d never met Kanye before, and was a fan,” Taylor claims.
Kanye - who took to the stage to insist Beyonce Knowles should have won - has since apologized for his actions. “That was Taylor’s moment and I had no right in anyway to take it from her. I am truly sorry,” West stated.

Underwood, Paisley Return as CMA Hosts
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Awards, Country,
If it feels like 2009 is a rehash of 2008, there might be reason. First, Russell Brand is asked to host the VMAs for the second time. Now, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are being given return gigs.
Last year’s Male and Female Vocalists of the Year will once again front the CMAs during the broadcast this fall. Combined, the two country stars have already racked up a total of 16 award from “Country Music’s Biggest Night.”
“I am thrilled to get the chance to co-host the CMAs for a second time with my pal, Carrie,” Paisley said. “This year we’ll pull out all the stops, like a miniature poodle balancing act, tightrope walking, and a new world record for the number of costume changes by my co-host. Don’t miss it!”
The 43rd Annual CMA Awards will air live November 11 on ABC.

We may still be six months away from Super Bowl XLIV, but musical acts are getting us pumped up for football now.
In just four weeks, the gridiron action will officially begin with a battle between the Tennessee Titans and last year’s champ, the Pittsburgh Steelers. But the activity won’t just be limited to the playing surface at Heinz Field. The regular season’s first game will be preceded by a concert at Pittsburgh’s Point State Park.
Those tailgating in the area can enjoy performances from both country singer Tim McGraw and the Black Eyed Peas. The free warm-up acts will both be open to the public.
The NFL’s 90th season begins on Thursday, Sept. 10 @ 8:30 pm EDT.

Eminem Kills Competition with Relapse Debut
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: The Charts, Country, Hip-Hop & Rap, Rock,
With the debut of Relapse, Eminem has fallen back into old habits.
For the fifth time in his career, Slim Shady has seen his album debut at the top of the charts. Over the past week, the rapper sold 608,000 copies of his new CD. That figure marks the best one-week figure for the entire year. It’s also the largest total since AC/DC‘s release in October 2008. (That was when Black Ice recorded 784,000 purchased units.)
Last week’s chart topper, Green Day, fell to the #2 spot this week with 166,000 units sold. Kenny Chesney (89,000), Method Man and Redman (63,000) and comedian Dane Cook (61,000) rounded out the top five spots on Billboard’s 200.

Chris Brown working on country music for next album
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Country, R&B / Soul,
Chris Brown is currently recording a country song. The 20-year-old Brown, who has pleaded not guilty to assaulting on/off girlfriend Rihanna in February, is believed to be working on a new track called ‘Trapped in a Dream’ which may be included on his next album.
Chris’ producer Robert Allen said: “Maybe we’ll see an appearance from country star Carrie Underwood or someone like that. It’s that kind of song. It’s just feeling like you don’t want that dream to go away. Everybody has a dream and you’re in it, but you wake up and you’re like, ‘Oh, my God.’ You feel like you’re still in that dream.”
