Chris Martin is rumored to be helping U2 with their new album.
The Coldplay frontman reportedly joined the Irish rockers - Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. - at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, where they have been working on their 13th album with producer Danger Mouse. According to fan site atu2.com, "Our reporter saw Coldplay's Chris Martin arrive, followed by Larry Mullen Jr. about two minutes later. Shortly after that, a van arrived with three guitars - each with a white label that said 'U2/Edge' - and our reporter actually helped bring the gear into the studio. He saw Larry and Chris Martin together in another room before heading back outside."
The site says when Chris was later approached, he denied he had been in the studio.
The singer is a good friend of Bono and a long time fan of U2, previously saying of the group, "We respect any musician, particularly ones who have kept going and not changed line-up and have always been good."

Beyonce was joined on-stage by husband Jay-Z at the Sound of Change concert last night. The couple - who together have a 16-month-old daughter Blue Ivy - performed their huge hit "Crazy In Love" much to the delight of the crowd at London's Twickenham Stadium. They even shared a kiss on stage in front of the adoring fans at the show in aid of The Chime For Change charity which funds education, health and justice projects for women.
Appropriately opening her set with "A Change Is Gonna Come," the superstar led the crowd through a set filled with hits like "If I Were A Boy" and "Single Ladies." Trent Reznor Announces Upcoming Nine Inch Nails Album
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Artist News, Collaborations, Upcoming Releases, Rock,
Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has announced that the band has finished their latest album and that it will be released through Columbia later this year.
While Reznor stated at the end of last year that new material was in the works and had released scheduled tour dates, the band never divulged just when that album would arrive (their last album, The Slip, was released in 2008). Reznor opened up about the fact that he kept the news underwraps from fans:
"I've been less than honest about what I've really been up to lately. For the last year I've been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly f--king great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, How to Destroy Angels and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!"

Ed Sheeran has hinted at more collaborations with Taylor Swift.
The Lego House singer is currently on tour with his close pal in the US and after having teamed up previously for their track "Everything Has Changed," featured on her album Red, Ed has indicated there may be more teamwork on his upcoming album.
"My second album has taken shape recently. I don't know if there will be any collaborations on it. You never know. I'm on tour with her for 6 months. I'm sure the guitars will come out at some point. We wrote ["Everything Has Changed"] in June. We went in to write another song for the Red album and then we went to record that other song. The day before we went to record it she invited me around to her house for food and "Everything Has Changed" came out of that."

Avril Lavigne ‘Pushed’ Boundaries for New Album

Avril Lavigne "pushed" her boundaries for her new album.
The 28-year-old singer is set to release her follow up from 2011's Goodbye Lullaby and has thoroughly explored her emotions for the record, insisting she is proud for having a "completely different getup" to other female artists since first appearing on the music scene in 2002 with her track "Complicated."
"Lyrically, I pushed myself to talk about different subjects I haven't talked about before. I didn't want to be so simple. I tried to really express myself and go deeper. I wasn't the girl baring her midriff with backup dancers and a headset microphone. I came out and had a lot to say with my lyrics, and I played the guitar. I had a completely different getup, stage presence, everything," she said.
The "He Wasn't" musician recently revealed she has teamed up with goth rocker Marilyn Manson for a track on her upcoming fifth LP and admitted the '"heavier" material came about very spontaneously: "It was last minute [the song came about]. I was sitting there at the board thinking Manson would be perfect on this track, so I texted him and he's like, 'I'll come over and hear it.' So he came at four o'clock in the morning... Yes, it was one of those nights."

Daft Punk Planning Second Album with Rodgers?
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Collaborations, Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Dance, Electronic, Pop, R&B / Soul,
Daft Punk is planning a second album with Nile Rodgers. The French duo - Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter - teamed up with the disco legend for three songs on their new album, Random Access Memories, and he is keen for them to collaborate again on his hoard of unreleased material.
"I recently found a treasure trove of old stuff I wrote years ago that's been hidden in a studio vault. It's unreleased material from the late 70s and early 80s, and it has to see the light of day - especially now I've met producers that I trust like Daft Punk. I already know they'd love to work on some of this music. There's some solo stuff, tracks by Johnny Mathis and Fonzi Thornton, the soundtrack to a film called Alphabet City and Chic recording in Stockholm," Nile said.

Daft Punk Think Auto-Tune Ruins Music
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Collaborations, Gossip, Electronic, Pop, New Releases,
Daft Punk thinks Auto-Tune is ruining pop music. Though the duo - Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter - like experimenting with the vocal-tweaking software in a "fun" way, they think it is over-relied on to make a singer's voice sound perfect.
"Pop music is into the uncanny valley. For example, take Auto-Tune. Auto-Tune as an effect is very fun. We put it in the same category as the wah-wah pedal. It's pleasing to the ear and creates those funky artefacts, a bit like the clavinet in Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition.' The other use of Auto-Tune is the invisible one, where you put the voices of the performers in and you set the thresholds so you can't hear the Auto-Tune is there. It makes the voice 'perfect.' If you're using it to solve small imperfections, you're creating something that isn't human. Would you Auto-Tune Roger Daltrey on 'Tommy'? Or Simon & Garfunkel? It stops being a fun effect and becomes like a clone from a terrifying sci-fi movie," Thomas said.
Despite their success as dance music pioneers, the "Get Lucky" duo admit they have always secretly wanted to be like The Strokes, whose frontman Julian Casablancas is one of their collaborators on new album Random Access Memories.

Miley Cyrus Collaborating with Justin Bieber
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Collaborations, Gossip, Rumors, Hip-Hop & Rap, Pop,
Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber are recording new music together. The "Can't Be Tamed" singer was spotted leaving a Hollywood recording studio within minutes of Justin, 19, on Thursday and they are believed to be working on a collaboration.
"There aren't that many recording booths at this studio, they must be doing something together. Justin and Miley left within minutes of each other - it's too coincidental. There's gotta be a collaboration in the works," a photographer from X17online.com said.
Miley recently worked with gangster-rapper-turned-reggae artist Snoop Lion on the song "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks." He said, "Miley Cyrus was always a great singer to me and I knew she was a fan so it was great for us to collaborate. It's what she's going through and what I'm going through, she makes great music."

Kanye West’s Futuristic Sound
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Collaborations, Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Hip-Hop & Rap,
Kanye West's new album is from "the year 3000."
The "Stronger" hitmaker has been working on his sixth solo LP and his friend and G.O.O.D. Music affiliate Travi$ Scott, who has heard some of the tracks, thinks fans may not be ready for the futuristic sound of the record: "That s**t is like some next-level 3000. We're already in the year 3000 f***ing with that s**t and that's why I love hanging out with those guys over there. You get caught on to that new s**t extra fast."
Though Travi$ refused to say much about the album, he admitted he loves being part of Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music colllective because he has learned a lot - and gets treated to "information" before anyone else. "You know how he feels about his s**t. What I can say is, it's cool as f**l, you just learn a lot, you see a lot, you hear a lot and you just get the information super-early. That's what influences me to work 13 times as hard," he added in an interview with MTV.

Mariah Carey Feels Pressure to Complete Album
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Collaborations, Upcoming Releases, Pop, New Releases,
Mariah Carey feels there is a "lot of pressure" on her new album. The diva released comeback track "#Beautiful," featuring Miguel, on Monday and is racing to complete her eleventh studio album in time for summer.
Taking about a release date, she told radio host Ryan Seacrest, "Probably we're talking about earlier than mid-summer, which is a lot of pressure on me because I want these last few records to be just as good as the first records I started."
Mariah wrote "#Beautiful" with Miguel and was impressed with how in tune with each other they both were in the studio. "We got together, he had starting writing this song with just the guitar riff. And I have to say this about him as a collaborator, sometimes when you haven't worked with somebody you don't know really what they do in the studio... And if they have the same kind of love for music that I have... And he's the truth. We just wanted to do something different that has a texture that feels fresh," she explained.
