Jack White with Mick Jagger and Keith RichardsKeith Richards says that "the door is wide open," for Jack White to produce The Rolling Stones.

The legendary "Paint it Black" band's guitarist said they are meeting next month to discuss plans to celebrate their 50th anniversary, and he is keen for them to head to the studio.

"I'd love to get some tracks down and see what songs we've got. And that goes along with part of getting the band back together and getting things moving. So I'd love to cut some tracks, yeah," he told Rolling Stone.

When asked if blues renaissance man Jack - a friend of Keith who worked on some demo material with him in 2009 - would produce the new material, he replied, "That's always a possibility. The door is wide open."

Johnny Depp and Patti SmithJohnny Depp helped Patti Smith record the title track of her new album, Banga. The Hollywood star - who is also a guitarist - worked on the track after helping the singer record her initial vocal idea.

"It's all Johnny Depp. He's a friend of mine and I got the idea for the song in my head. I told Johnny, 'I don't wanna forget this.' So he recorded me singing a capella. Then Johnny said he would send it to me so I wouldn't forget. And when I got it, he'd put drums, guitars, everything on it! So the first minute of the song is all me and Johnny Depp. What we did in the recording studio was the band listened to Johnny's track and then came in on the chorus."

Another track on the album pays tribute to Amy Winehouse, but Patti said she was careful not to romanticize the singer's self destruction: "A lot of people think that because I admire a lot of musicians or artists who did have a self-destructive bent that I romanticize self-destruction. Well, I don't at all. In Amy Winehouse's instance, I really admired her as a singer. That girl was amazing. She sang songs from my generation - R&B songs and jazz and doo-wop - with no sixth degree of separation. She really comprehended this music and delivered something extra."

Peter Andre and Chris BrownPeter Andre has hinted he is to collaborate with Chris Brown.

The "Behind Closed Doors" hitmaker is currently working on a new album in Los Angeles and had "some good chats" with the "Run It" hitmaker, but refused to confirm whether they had led to plans for a duet.

"I'm writing my column from Los Angeles this week and my time in the studio is going really well. One of my highlights has been meeting Chris Brown, who's working in the same studio. Lots of people have been asking me if we're working on music together, but you'll have to wait and see. It's been really fun hanging out with him though and we've had some good chats."

Peter is excited for his fans to hear the finished album, and has promised he is trying out a new musical direction: "I'm actually working with the producers who've just made an album with Justin Bieber and they've also worked on Chris's album, so I'm in good company! I can't wait for you all to hear it - it's a new sound for me."

LabrinthLabrinth wants to collaborate with Dave Grohl and Bjork.

The "Express Yourself" hitmaker is a huge fan of both the Foo Fighters frontman and the eccentric singer and says it would be a dream to work with them: "The people I want to collaborate with most are Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl and Bjork. Dave was the coolest guy ever when I met him. I've gotten every single girl I've ever wanted, so when I say 'I want Bjork,' I've just got to get that girl."

Labrinth - real name Timothy McKenzie - also revealed how music is his first love as he gets so much enjoyment from making new songs:

"Music is everything to me. I love creating and being a producer but I'm still developing into the sort of artist I want to be. I'm schizophrenic when I make music. One moment I want to make rock, the next it's club music. It's very hard to stick to one thing. It burns that the record industry makes me focus on just one thing because I have a very short attention span."

Florence WelchFlorence Welch says having David LaChapelle direct her new video was a dream come true.

The Florence + The Machine singer is a lifelong fan of the acclaimed artist, director and photographer and had "fantasized" from the minute she wrote "Spectrum" that he would work with her on the promotional film to accompany the track.

"It was a complete dream to work with David LaChapelle. I collected his books as a teenager, and I fantasized that he would direct the video for 'Spectrum' from the moment the song was written. I still cant believe it actually happened, and I'm completely overjoyed that he felt such a connection with the song," said Florence, who appears in the video as an Egyptian queen presiding over a troupe of ballerinas.

The admiration is mutual as David - who co-directed the video with John Byrne - hailed the track as a "modern classic" that allowed him to create a visual spectacular.

Ed SheerhanEd Sheeran has been writing songs for Taylor Swift.

The "A Team" hitmaker - who has previously penned tracks for One Direction - was asked by the country singer to work on her new album because she is a "massive fan" of his own music.

"Ed and Taylor have been in the studio in LA a lot over the past few weeks working on new material. She's into her British music and became a massive fan of Ed before asking to work with him recently. There is a mutual affection between the pair," a source said.

It has not yet been decided whether Ed's songs will be released as singles, but even just a credit on an album track will earn the 21-year-old British star around $310,000.

"It's still to be officially decided how the material will be released but just a single credit on her album will be worth big money. Taylor's country sound is massive around the world," the source added.

The "What Makes You Beautiful" boy band are currently working on their second record, and singer Niall Horan has been thinking of unusual people they could work with: "It would be weird if we did something with Eminem. You have to think outside the box! Can you imagine One Direction and Eminem? That would be hilarious."

Carrie UnderwoodCarrie Underwood writes for herself.

The "Before He Cheats" singer tries not to worry about the business side of her career and instead just concentrates on writing music that she enjoys singing.

"I try not to think too much about what other people want from me. I feel like that's somebody else's job to be like, 'Carrie, you've gone too far.' I don't know statistics, and I don't know what kind of songs people download more. I just know what I like, and I know when I'm singing what feels good for me to sing and what songs I'd turn up on the radio and which ones I'd change. So I kind of write for myself, I sing for myself, and if people like it, I guess they're a lot like me."

Mutt Lange offered Carrie the song "Who Are You" for her latest album Blown Away and she was thrilled the legendary producer wanted to work with her: "He submitted it. He sent it in. He's really secretive and private about what he has. Lord knows how many songs he has stashed away some place, but I guess he had me in mind at some point. I don't know when he wrote it, but somewhere along the way he must have thought, 'Hey, Carrie would sound good on this.' I don't know what he thought but I'm glad whatever he thought, he thought it, because he sent it in.

Jay-Z and Kanye WestJay-Z and Kanye West are to record another album together.

The duo - who are currently on a joint European tour - are planning to return to the studio to work on another record following the success of last year's Watch The Throne.

"It's not started yet, but it's coming," producer Mike Dean promised.

In December, Jay admitted he was keen to record with Kanye again, but only after they'd each returned to their solo projects: "It depends on how this thing finishes up. We - I say 'we' because I'm in Throne mode - we're in a great place creatively. You might see a Jay, then Kanye and a Throne album next year. You know, we're really in a great place creatively. We really found our zone."
