VIDEO: Cancer Diagnosis Ends Beastie Boys Tour

In a video message posted on his group’s website, Adam “MCA” Yauch regretfully announced the end of the Beastie Boys’ summer tour. The cancellation and a delay of their next album are results of a recent cancer diagnosis.
It was determined approximately two weeks ago that Yauch was suffering from more than just swollen glands. He will now receive surgery and radiation for cancer found in his left parotid gland and a lymph node in that area.

An alleged unreleased Michael Jackson tune has leaked onto the Internet. The song is a remake of “A Horse with No Name,” recorded by America in 1971. This version, “A Place with No Name,” received recording permission “several years ago.” It’s not known, however, when Jackson actually recorded the song.

Stage Accident on Madonna Tour Kills Worker

UPDATE: A second worker has now died as a result of his injuries. Of the eight others injured, one is currently listed as critical and four are considered serious.
An accident at France’s Stade Vélodrome has forced the cancellation of Madonna‘s upcoming concert.
Earlier today, workers in Marseilles constructing a set for the Sticky & Sweet tour. For reasons unknown, the roof collapsed and fell on several workers. Of the seven injured, one was killed while two others were listed in serious condition.

Over 45 years after he first visited with The Beatles, Paul McCartney returned to the Ed Sullivan Theater last night. His appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman was laced with history, humor and a high performance from on top the outdoor marquee.
In the clip above, you can see him perform “Coming Up,” “Band on the Run,” “Let Me Roll It,” “Helter Skelter” and “Back in the U.S.S.R.” to the large crowd below. Then after the jump, check out a portion of McCartney’s interview with the late night host.

Video: Coldplay Pays Tribute to Michael Jackson with Billie Jean Performance

A few days ago at their concert in the Shoreline Amphitheater, Coldplay did a live performance of “Billie Jean,” paying tribute to Michael Jackson, getting the crowd into it as well. The video is shot from the crowd, and starts just a bit into the performance.
Miley Cyrus Has American Idol Auditioners Singing

According to Ryan Seacrest, the Miley Cyrus song is the top single American Idol auditioners are testing out their chops too.
TV’s $45 million host revealed the tidbit in a tweet posted late yesterday: “Idol auds in denver..hot temps…the most popular song on the road so far miley cyrus “the climb” for real.”
Which city will perform that Hannah Montana song best? We’ll find out when American Idol 9 returns next year.

Although Mariah Carey’s original performance of “I’ll Be There” was unplugged, yesterday’s shaky attempt had some searching for plugs. And don’t think she didn’t know it.
Hours after Michael Jackson’s memorial service, the singer turned to Twitter to apologize to her fans.
“Trying to sing today was basically impossible for me. I could barely keep myself from crying. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to pull it together and really do it right, but I was literally choked up when I saw him there in front of me. One thing I know is, we will never really have to say goodbye to MJ. His legacy lives on through his music and the millions of people he inspired with his timeless music. He will be forever in our hearts.”
Alright. We forgive you.

London Tribute Concert Planned for Jackson

Ever since Michael Jackson’s death, there had been whispers about a possible tribute tour. Now it appears London may finally get a chance to celebrate the King of Pop’s music.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, there are plans to hold a concert on August 29 in the 02 Arena. That date would have marked Michael’s 51st birthday. Although it’s unclear whether Jackson’s siblings will be performing at this event, AEG Live President Randy Phillips said this might be a possibility during an earlier interview.
