Human League Working on New Album

The Human League

The Human League have signed a record deal with label Wall of Sound and have started work on their tenth studio LP.

The “(Keep Feeling) Fascination” hitmakers - made up of Phil Oakley, Susan Sulley and Joanne Catherall - are hoping that, after their extended break from recording, they can win over new fans and head back into the charts. Their last album, 2001’s Secrets, was a commercial flop.

“Emerging from a decade in which everyone seems to have spent their time looking backwards we are delighted to have the opportunity to march forwards once again,” Phil said. “After a break from recording we can’t think of a better situation than working with Wall of Sound in our ambition to make the best recordings of our career and to extend the audience for original electronic pop music.”

The legendary electronic pop pioneers hope to make their comeback this year - almost 30 years since they first topped the UK charts in 1981 with “Don’t You Want Me.” The last time the Human League were in the UK charts was in 1996 with their song “Stay With Me Tonight,” which reached #40. The group, however, has toured extensively since and have sold over 20 million records during their career.
