Christina Aguilera will appear on the finale of American Idol as she launches her comeback.

The singer is currently promoting her new album Bionic and will perform the first single from it, “Not Myself Tonight,” on May 26.

She is also scheduled to appear on a host of other TV shows including The Today Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Aguilera, whose Idol appearance will come just weeks after Lady Gaga’s, recently had to defend her new sound after many accused her of copying the “Poker Face” singer.

“It just comes with the territory. That, in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on,” she said. “I’ve been around for over a decade and I think my work speaks for myself. When I was younger I would have engaged, been a little upset about the comparisons. There’s a bigger picture out there. I’ve got my son, my family, my work.”

Christina, 29, has also promised fans she is sexier than ever after becoming a mother two years ago. “I’m more confident and comfortable in my own skin. I think I’m a more sexual Christina,” she declared.
