One Direction to Perform at American Music Awards
One Direction will perform at the American Music Awards next month.
The "Best Song Ever" hitmakers - consisting of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - will make their on-stage debut at the annual awards ceremony on November 24, reports E! News. The group will perform for their legions of fans at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, joining a bill that includes "Wrecking Ball" singer Miley Cyrus - who previously shocked the world with her racy twerking antics at the MTV Video Music Awards in August.
It's not yet known what song the pop band will perform, but it is highly likely they will showcase some fresh material as they are set to unveil a new single imminently. The band's third studio album, Midnight Memories, will be released a day after the ceremony on November 25.
Country group Florida Georgia Line are also set to perform.
"Thrift Shop" hitmakers Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the nominations for this year's American Music Awards, including consideration for Artist of the Year, Single of the Year and New Artist of the Year. "Mirrors" star Justin Timberlake is up for five awards, as is "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer Taylor Swift. Bruno Mars and Rihanna have multiple nominations, too.
Kelly Clarkson and will.i.am announced the nominees earlier this month.
