In an IM-style message, the four musicians discussed their desire to get back out on the road sometime next year.
Tom Dumont (guitarist): “I have cabin fever. Maybe we should play some shows or something.”
Tony Kanal (bassist): “I’m down to play. We need to play. It’s been too long.”
Gwen Stefani (singer): “I think we should go out now, I don’t think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so spiriting to get out there and play all those songs again.”
Adrian Young (drummer): “I love the idea of going on the road again.”
Gwen: “I think that if we go on tour, it will inspire us to write. I need to see the fans out there.”
Tony: “Yeah, totally. I think playing some shows will make the studio time even better. Playing shows, writing songs, kicking ass, ND 2009.”
Rock Steady, the band’s last studio album, was released in 2001.
