Fans of Katy Perry will be excited to know that the "Wide Awake" singer will be releasing her next album in the summer.

The 28 year-old popstar has promised her fans a darker album to follow-up 2010's upbeat Teenage Dreams (most likely due to her tumultuous year involving the breakdown of her marriage to comedian Russell Brand).

Perry is rumored to continue partnering with Greg Wells and Bonnie McKee on her songs, which hopefully won't stray all too far from her popular catchy sounds.

There's no word yet as to what the album title may be.
