Kings of Leon Not Feeling Glee-ful
Coldplay may have finally relented and let their songs be used on Glee, but it sounds like Kings of Leon will be holding their ground.
According to the group, they have denied requests to have their music used on the FOX series “apparently everybody loves.”
Although it’s unclear why KOL made that decision (or why their songs have been heard on others shows like Gossip Girl), it’s not the first time the band has turned someone down.

“We had some people call us up wanting to know if we’d allow ‘Use Somebody’ to appear in the trailer for their next movie, and we turned them down,” lead singer Caleb Folowill said. “Next day, they called back and tried to put us through to the star of the movie—I won’t name names, but he’s an incredibly famous actor—to let him try and convince us to agree to do it. I was like, ‘Man, don’t even waste your energy’.”
The show, of course, isn’t exactly hurting for musical help. In addition to upcoming episodes featuring Britney Spears and Madonna tracks, creator Ryan Murphy has revealed they are going to do “something with George Michael’s music.” He’s also holding out hope for songs from another musical genius.
“I want to do something on Prince. I love Prince. I think he is just a genius, and I would love to feature him and his music on the show,” Ryan revealed to E!. “Everything about him is dreamy and fantastic, and more than that, he meant a great deal to my life growing up. So I’m saying, ‘Prince, help me out.’”
